So I just finished Silentium. Holy shit. What a great read, probably my favourite since Fall of Reach.

But where to go from here, so much is tied up...

Really changes my perspective on the Ur-Didact in Halo 4. Shitty hand. Seriously holy fuck at all the things in this book.

I was 14 when CE launched and 17 when Halo 2 launched...

Those kids look like they are 8 years old. But you're right age shouldn't matter. Everyone starts somewhere.

Here's the problem, do you cater to new fans or the fans who've supported you for a decade? Remember Halo isn't a new IP, it's had a dedicated fan base for well over a decade. If anything, you make sure your grizzled ancient Halo fans happy before you focus on the noob crowd.

You never know, 5-10 years from now, these kids will be on GAF reminiscing about the good old days of infinity slayer on Halo 4. For them, this is the only Halo they know.

Or they'll be shouting glorious, childish profanity at each other at the Halo 6 national championships. Meanwhile the game essentially plays itself and massages the player's balls while narrowing the skill gap to zero.

Ya never know.
I was 8 when CE came out.

I think their Xbox team at the least is pretty competent. I love Podcast Unlocked. But yeah, their scoring system seems to lack a lot of integrity. They'll be thorough about listing problem areas and issues, but somehow those cannot drag any AAA game down past a 8.5.

Eh, I hate this time of year in Australia. I always get sick because of the weather. But in other news, I swapped Tomb Raider back for Halo 4 tonight (Apparently DLC for TR is just multiplayer, lawl).

Hopefully the Forge announcement is something substantial so I have a reason to start playing again. Until then, Mass Effect 3 PC has peaked my interest. It's actually pretty decent for a co-op experience.

I would just like to take this moment to apologize to everyone here on behalf of the rest of my state. We're just as shocked/pissed/annoyed as you. Fuckin' Lobos. Poor Aggies (they get more sympathy from me because I went there, thankfully NMT doesn't have any real sports teams. They would never win and I'd always be apologizing).

There are so many people "out sick" today, it's not even funny. My office is a ghost town.
