"Not enough time & resources" :p
Yeah don't mind us just, building a huge war machine out of stuff we brought with us. Maybe someone forgot instructions? Lol.

Yayyyy, got the Didact figure for my Birthday! I am such a happy nerd. Haha guess its the policy, but I'm sneaking a light beard back in.
The didact is big that's the first one I've actually seen, that helmet looks so much nicer than his face. Good luck at sneaking one in.

I'd love to see some vehicles from Halo Wars in Halo shooters. Rhino for example, UNSC artillely piece would be nice (with conventional gun, not plasma gun). And Cyclops instead of Mantis.
That would be nice instead if just artillery why not have a tank destroyer ala Jadgtiger?

Tank destroyers are meh. Cobra would be nice, it is a combined tank destroyer and artillery platform really (despite its name being SP43 MBT...).

Hey, the US Army Ordnance Museum. I've been there, pretty cool. Note the Pershing I missile in the background and what looks like something based of the Mk IV chassis next to it.

A tank destroyer would be kind of weird, since we already have a heavy vehicle that you have to turn to aim the main armament. They don't even really exist in RL anymore...

Also, I just met Future Speedy at Taco Bell. He's a mentally ill homeless man ranting about his best friend Bill Gates, stock prices of Microsoft competitors from the 90's, and this one time Bill picked up an escort and was Captain Kirk (Bill, that is), but it was cool since he was single then.

What honestly would a game use kinect for, I mean sure for kinect sports or maybe like some party games, but others like first or third person shooters it's just pointless. If they can drop it and the price then I've got no issue for something that I feel is kinda useless.

If I get a beta code I'll give it to one of you guys or girls if you want it.
BF4 has some nice Kinect usage. Lean around corners, use the comma rose system with voice, and free looking when in vehicles (super useful in jets).

Nothing earthshattering, but nice features.

That style of tank destroyer is quite obsolete, not to mention jadgtiger's being under powered. The cobra is kinda one. Future speedy sounds more crazy than current speedy, maybe he completed his transition to MS zealot?

Just stick some tracks on it and it will look great, not that one of those would work in btb. Campaign is another matter.

TF is pretty cool. Its fast and the movement is great. It does have that I see your first your dead syndrome but overall it was fun. I just hope it has legs, there needs to be a reason to level up.

I know some people in this thread don't trust Famous Mortimer, but I thought I'd post it for those who might be intrigued. Not really Halo related...

Two things. Titanfall launch show with @geoffkeighley. Have you announced that yet? Also, xbox bought by Amazon? Bookmark this.

The latter isn't even close to done. If it gets finished at all. But, that's the scuttlebutt. Do with it what you may.

.......Microsoft is looking to dump xbox. Amazon is looking for gaming assets. Talks have started.

Well people have been wanting to get rid of it for ages, so it being everything makes sense.

Here is my concern though, this is something that would only really be discussed at the top level. Why would someone like Mortimer even be privy to such details? It seems like he's just making up some unfounded rumor or "possibility" based on recent news/feelings.

I mean, Xbox One is poised to have a much better second half than first, especially with TitanFall and Halo releasing soon, sure things are in the dumps, but all over, MS is regrouping on a lot of things. Windows Phone plans to introduce Android apps much like BlackBerry did, Windows 8.1 went a long way with helping more Windows 8 adoption etc. Would seem a bit premature. Like Microsoft is so large, and Mortimer is a nobody, why would he be the first to "break" this news in a sense? If he's wrong, he can chalk it up to "talks probably broke down".

The people who want to get rid of it are shareholders who hold a whopping 0.8% of the shares. These same shareholders have been wanting to get rid of the Xbox division for a long time now.

MS wouldn't have invested billions of dollars into Xbox in the past few years if they want to sell it. Xbox is more than just the Xbox One. It's a way for MS to get people into the MS ecosystem. I don't see MS selling Xbox anytime soon, especially now that Bill Gates is "back" and with Satya Nadella at the wheel.

Seeing as Mortimer says first and tries to confirms later (and horribly tries to fix his mistakes), I would not hold much weight to his words.

If Microsoft was trying to sell off Xbox it would have not made investments like buying GeOW rights, letting a new studio work on it for two year, get Staten back to run its core publishing studio, start a new TV studio that focuses on broader entertainment, announce new games and all that just to sell it all off.

.8% is a tiny amount shares wise, is it making profit as a division? If it is then selling it would be strange, more so if they put that much in it money wise.

edit: Sorry Madness :p

Haha, no, I was just like it's been a while, no one commented, shouldn't have bothered with a comment, and even after I edited I saw there was no comment after mine and then yours appeared a short while later. All good though.

Edit: with TitanFall set to launch, a possible SKU-less version, white version, and Halo 2?, Xbox One was poised to get a ton of sales this year. Just don't see them even having thoughts of selling it, not after buying Gears, setting up all these studios etc.

A new TV studio?

People want to use at work what they have at home. With the new BOYOD culture in companies it's very important for MS to get a stronger foothold in households. Especially now that home PCs are slowly fading away, Xbox is perfect "trojan horse" for that.

Xbox hasn't been a very profitable division, it's making profit though(correct me if I'm wrong). The problem is that the profit from the Xbox divison pales in comparison to MS's other divisions such as the enterprise side. The shareholders who want the Xbox division gone see it as a distraction, they want the money that MS invests into the Xbox division invested in the more profitable divisions such as office, instead of a way to get a stronger foothold on the overall market.

Considering the success they're enjoying with the Xbox One and all the money they invested in TV and new games they'd be out of their minds if they sold everything. Do they actually care more about Surfaces and Windows Phones?

They want to get rid of Surface too

I really don't see Microsoft dumping Xbox as a brand, I mean yeah, Xbox One wasn't the best selling thing, but it's far from a failure.

Plus if amazon gets a hold of it, it'll just turn into the Ouya 2.0.

Angry Birds with Kinect!

The thing to understand about Xbox is the shareholders have never liked it. And Microsoft starts/buys things and gets rid of them all the time.

I mean, it sounds weird to gamers that an entire console division could be sold off, but for Microsoft, it'd just be Tuesday.

tbh though if there were any truth to this, all the work at Amazon so far would probably be thrown out, which would suck.

People don't really believe this do they? MS has been spending too much money on the Xbox lately, they're not going to just sell a division they've been pumping money into so recently.

I don't believe the rumours but one could argue that to sell a house, sometimes you need to spend some money doing it up first. Saving the prospective buyer from having to think about what needs doing to sort it out.

They've been pumping money into it for the last 14 years.

That being said, there's quite a few companies that could afford to buy Xbox, or MS's new CEO might want to keep it despite the continued heavy subsidization. Business is weird.
