I'd like to congratualte heckfu, cyren, and monsterfracas for picking the correct team. And I would like to laugh at juices, lybertyboy, vhfive, steelyuhas, duncan, hydra, and tawpgun for picking the wrong team. And everyone can laugh at hyper for signing up, but not filling out a bracket.

And the game is not nearly fun enough to play for the sake of having fun.
They must pay me virtual credits to play Reach.


After the majority of your team leaves they should not penalize you for leaving as well.
Nobody enjoys those games.

Ugh so this one whole game I'm pacing my shots, getting jack shit for it and at the end I decide to just full bloom fire and start getting headshots.

So good.

Has the population decreased? Seems bad host are getting picked more often.

I can live with AR starts for small to medium size games as long as the pistol is your secondary and is capable. Reach's AR starts were a lot better than 3's for this reason. It would need to get a boost in clip size/reduction of bloom. If that's the case AR starts are tolerable but not ideal on anything but BTB sized maps. It just adds an annoying chore to the beginning of each spawn.

Let the casual audience who have no interest in mastering the game spawn with the AR because it's their choice.

Let the core audience who gives an actual damn about Halo choose the BR or any other rifle that may be present because it's their choice.

Give us this option across the board and be done with it. Period.

That's basically what I was saying - let people choose what they spawn with at all times.

If we're allowed to spawn with a secondary weapon of our choice then awesome!

BR + Pistol for life and never changing.

I get what you are saying but BR vs AR starts wouldn't work as starts, just make it BR starts and AR secondary or w/e new popular weapon 343i has in mind in all playlists. Yes the AR is a staple of the Halo series and keep it, and is somewhat popular but my god kill it already. We had this so far: Halo CE (AR), 2 (SMG), 3 (AR), Reach (AR). Time to move on already and embrace a starting weapon you guys yourself wanted back.

Doesn't matter, the majority of users in all Anniversary playlists use an AR even though they spawn with and are being at by a 3 shot pistol. People will use the AR no matter what.

If Team Rockets had AR secondary, I guarantee you many people would just use the AR.

If people are too dumb to press Y to switch to a better weapon and get donged on all day, then TrueSkill should work its magic from there.

People would rage even harder, instead of having to reload your AR you could just switch weapons and keep spraying.

People do like it either way just split the playlist or something. Team Slayer (AR/Pistol) and Team Slayer Pro (BR/AR or Pistol) playlist etc, both parties are happy and in their bubble. Before someone says something about too many playlist we got like 24 right now in Halo Reach.

And that's a big problem, I would love if Halo could be restrained to 10 or less playlists. If the core game is really good, there won't have to be two dozen playlists to try and appeal to such a fragmented playerbase. All these minor variations of the same core game is stupid, it's only in Reach because of how shitty the core game is.

Yea it's a bit much, but it's a weird issue. If we have less people bitch, too many people bitch.

but hell we always bitch lol.

It's not even fun to rotate playing 3 with Reach because of the long search times and being split across teams when you go in with a party of 2 to Multi Team..

Because of the stupid, now pointless "default Reach remains default" that they still think they're holding onto. Squad Slayer shouldn't have been deleted, because all we ended up with now was THREE playlists redundant to each other (BTB, BTBA, RP, RPA, Slayer, Super Slayer).

They should just push the TU global (besides Invasion) and bring back Squad at this point. Especially with bleedthrough gone. In terms of population, Squad DLC and Team Objective should have been axed, not Squad Slayer. But 343 also used up the playlist cap with the Anniversary playlists because they didn't want to put all the multi maps on one disc..

I'd have no problem with that. I'm also just imagining how bad Halo 3 MM is going to get with no consolidation once 4 comes out.

But no room for Firefight Limited. *beats dead horse*

I was grouchy it got nuked, but now that I see what replaced it...sigh. It had a unique role, and was replaced with duplicity. Two playlists are literal copies with a few player tweaks between them.

26 playlist limit. We were at 26 before. They announced that TU Beta would be coming back eventually.

So, instead of removing most of the lowly populated Anniversary lists, they kill a successful Main Reach playlist (25), kill Anniversary Squad (24), put Super Slayer back in it's place (25), and have left the 26th slot for the upcoming return of TU Beta.

Shit, I take that back. We essentially have three team slayers now - Slayer, Super Slayer, and ZB Slayer. If anything, they should just sprinkle ZB gametypes into the other lists and remove ZB Slayer as it's own playlist.

Anni BTB / BTB - only difference is ONE gametype and the map selection. Both are TU.

Rumble Pit / Anniversary FFA - only difference is map selection and one gametype. We don't even have Rockets FFA on Prisoner. Both are TU.

Team Slayer / Super Slayer / ZB Slayer - the 4v4 Slayer population is now split between 3 playlists. Hooray? Team Slayer is one of two Vanilla playlists left. Most ZBers are probably in MLG.

FF Arcade / FF Anniversary - Map selection. Why is this list still here? Not even Bungie ran an Unearthed-only list for this long. If anything, Firefight Doubles should have become the Anniversary list, since it matches Halo Anniversary being two player max for co-op.

Snipers is enough of a niche thing that I don't think I'd count it. At that point you'd have to throw SWAT in as well. Edit: Oh right, forgot about SWATpile/SWAT Potato and the like. Do people regularly vote for those gametypes?

Snipers is enough of a niche thing that I don't think I'd count it. At that point you'd have to throw SWAT in as well.

SWAT's got objectives. But yeah, it (Snipers) is a fringe style playlist. Squad Slayer was nice because it was a mainstream list with Big Party matching. Neither of the Big Team lists actually have Big Party matching on.

A lot of this is due to the decision to only have Anniversary maps on a disc. Oh well.

I'm fine with it on, like, the SMG, or Spiker, or something, maybe the Sniper, but putting it on the BR does sound pretty weird. Reach's policy of completely removing recoil from everything seems a but odd too. It's better than bloom though, without a doubt.

Yea this is my problem aswell.

Without armour a Spartan can lift 3 times his weight which falls in line with around 550-700lbs and the MJOLNIR adds a 2-2.5x multiplier to that.

Which is around 1100lbs-1750lbs Which im fairly sure would negate ANY recoil at all. Flipping 66 Ton's of HE spewing divine intervention is perfectly fine with me from a gameplay standpoint and i can accept that but for some reason i cant accept recoil as easily.

Maybe its cause the two dont gel, if multiplayer is going to disregard cannon and let a Spartan have "limitless" strength that's fine but at least practice what you preach if my Spartan can flip a 205 ton elephant then he can hold a SMG straight

Chief must have grown weak being in crysis for so long. At least he's not as bad as those Spartan 3's. I hear they cant even hold a gun straight! Its pretty comical to watch actually, unless they pause every few seconds to bring it in line, the front of the gun swings in wild arc's. Even ODST's are better trained!

I hope Recoil isnt going to be affected by standing still/ crouching, that would be awful.

(I tried looking for the "oh there you are" video Tashi put out but couldnt find it. :()

I have stated my problems with drastic playlist consolidation but I do agree changes can and should be made. I would prefer if they saved the drastic changes for until Halo 4 comes out though. Clearly they wont bother doing that then though. :(

Plus I hardly even think recoil will affect the game that much..
You barely ever shoot at a stationary target so you are always readjusting your aim anyways.

I think an excuse for recoil is that the BR isn't any modern assault rifle.
It has the power to shoot a bullet at such a high velocity that it reaches the target instantly...
