I don't think we've released concept art that isn't related to or literally an environment you'll explore.

The last five miunutes of that film and the unbroken story/action sequence it contains is absolutely brilliant.

Yup, it's an incredible sequence. Almost wordless, it collides multiple character arcs and resolves the entire story almost entirely through action. Gorgeously filmed, heartbreakingly well acted, perfectly scored action. It's ten minutes were I have to remind myself to breathe.

Yeah, saw that movie in the theater when I was a kid. Just re-watched it a couple of weeks ago. Very few movies since then have used action to resolve plot and characters so well. The entire movie is a slow-burn leading up to that scene but while the slow-burn is happening you have no idea that a slow-burn is happening. The way the dominoes fall is just so damn good.

Movie is better than the book without a doubt.

So...dual-wielding knife+hatchet confirmed for Halo 4 Frankie?

Quick question: What software do you guys use for your .GIFs? I've been using Photoshop CS5. (Believe it or not it's got some nice video tools)

I liked how your first extermination wasn't an overkill, but a triple :p.

Good stuff tho

Looks like there's some sort of loophole in the Tashi Ceiling.

Kidding aside, how does that work? Isn't the requirement to both wipe out the entire team and get an overkill? Or did they change that?

At any rate, great montage!

Podtacular 277: Armor Lock Discussion

You wanted it, you got it! We discuss armor lock in all of it’s glory and frustration. Being one of the most controversial things in Reach, there’s a lot to say: not just about armor lock, but armor abilities in general and how they have evolved in Halo. There exists a definite split between those who love armor lock and use it, and those who won’t even touch it with a 9-and-a-half foot pole. Joining in on the discussion is Kete from The Running Riot, Old Regime, Greenskull from Ready Up Live, and Slightly Live from Forward Unto Dawn. Enjoy your ears being assaulted for 2+ hours :)

I thought the discussion was quite interesting. </bias>

I would have thought of Headlong as 'the map' to play snipes on. What's wrong with it? There is plenty of cover, plenty of windows to shoot out of and the sight lines are pretty good in my opinion. Blood Gulch is just terrible for snipes. Every other map falls in between those for me.

Camping. No radar, which is fine but then you have fucking invis popping up every 2 minutes so some jackass just camps that and wooo fun. Even when people aren't camping you can go for several minutes without finding someone only to be sniped out of nowhere. The worst is by far is High Noon though since one team gets to spawn on much higher ground.

I'm hoping the delay is because they wanted to sneak some more info in. They could just as easily be removing information as well. NOW I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO THINK!!!!

Delay was related to an image. And not the kind you will particulalrly care about. Good update, zero megatons.

It is because the extermination medal isn't tied to the multi kill medals.
The extermination is given when you get a kill, the entire enemy team is dead, and you killed them all.
The multi kill medals are given based on a timer in-between the individual kills.

What happened there is he killed the first guy, then there was a delay before the second kill so it stopped the multikill medal.
Then he killed the last 3 guys before the first guy respawned, earning him a triple kill and an extermination.

I just got into that show about a week ago, it's not bad... it's pretty good.

The first season is good.
The first half of the second season sucks.
The second half of the second season is good.

I think you meant to type exterm rather than overkill but all the same wouldnt that lead to a lot of easy multi team exterminations lol?

Maybe it's just me but I don't get excited for the Bulletins like I did the BWUs. I think Frankie and Urk just did a better job of getting you excited about the games even if they didn't really say anything.

I hate heavies so much, but I cannot stop playing it.

That sprint icon is getting mighty tiring to look at :p

i played heavies reluctantly with some friends last weekend and surprisingly had some good old fashioned stupid fun.

Anyone else find that they enjoy Reach if only for that feeling of consistency? That is barring random shit like AA's and terrible vehicle physics. I'm talking about little things like the shield pop sound/shield flare, and the DMR being more reliable in general than the Battle Rifle.

I miss a few things going back to Halo 3, more than I thought.

Nah, I would just play Halo 3 for that. Reach maps would still suck and it would still have 5 puke worthy Forge maps.

Reach does do something really well. You can easily point to a handful of things it improves on significantly from Halo 3 for example.

That's never been at issue. The things it does not do well do not equally balance with the things it does do well. The longer you play the game, generally, the more you notice this imbalance and the more it starts taking away from one's enjoyment.

And things like papercraft vehicles and whatnot can easily and instantly bring about a sharp and sudden stop to fun.
