It sounds that the maps will be free. For me at least.

Squidhands was pointing out that you are paying an increased price for the bundle vs. what you would pay for the regular version of Halo 4. You are paying something for those maps, you're just paying it before the maps come out.

Umm. I got the season pass at PAX and DL'd all that shit for free.

You got the maps for free because you got the season pass for free. Everyone else had to pay for that season pass. Gears maps were not free. I should know, I bought the game new and I can't play on dedis because I don't want to buy the season pass.

I'd guess in the general direction of 11-13 maps in launch, so you add in nine more. Still less than Halo 2 and Halo 3.

I'd assume there is no Invasion due to lack of Elites in multiplayer.
No firefight and no invasion with coop mode maps downloaded over XBL..
Leaves a lot of space for competitive multiplayer maps.

The Limited Edition sounds great, the box looks awesome. So I guess no legendary edition, it would have been nice to have like a Master Chief statue or something like the cover art in statue form.

I really don't like the sound of the BR, hopefully its just the old footage and they've improved it by now. Just a few more weeks til E3, and we'll learn more about those specializations. Please don't suck.

It's basically confirmed already with this announcement. The 9 free maps bonus would certainly have to be a software key that lets you download the maps in-game as they come out, since they wouldn't be able to generate codes for content that isn't finished yet.

So the infrastructure is there for a season pass, it's a season pass.

To add to what others said, Gears offered all of their future competitive maps and campaign levels at a discounted price in the Season Pass if you paid for it upfront. That's what I'm seeing with what Microsoft 343 is doing with the LE of Halo 4, which to me is a great idea. It would be even more awesome if they offered the future SpOps episodes along with the multiplayer maps, but that doesn't seem to be the case as of now.
