I've seen very little about Halo 4, but most of it is unecessary changes and additions that just copy CoD. "Halo" gameplay was beautiful on its own; better than CoD's when it was done right. It doesn't need all this crap, and it doesn't add to the experience.
I want a Halo game that heralds back to Halo's origins; the most skill-based and fun console FPS on the market. A simple, elegant game that hides incredible depth through predictable game mechanics and features.
Understandable. My feelings on everyone comparing it to CoD aside, I think the series is in good hands, and (at least for me) I am willing to give 343 my trust until I play the game.
From what the few HaloGaffers that have played it have said, it still conveys that Halo feeling. I've played a lot of CoD and I have yet to see anything showing the core Halo 4 gameplay (movement, jumps, speed, ect.) turning into a CoD clone. They are just so radically different.
Yeah, some of the systems may be similar, but that's 343 acknowledging that CoD does some base systems well, and those systems can be implemented into a Halo game without ruining the Halo legacy. Halo does need to evolve. I've seen calls for Halo 2 XBLA and it makes me wonder how many people would rather Halo 4 just be a re-skinned 2004 game even when we've been there done that.
Anywho, my two cents and all.
