In the back of my paranoid mind, I feel like 343 might be withholding information because perhaps they are running into difficulties with balance. I understand the whole "We're busy making a game set to release in a few months", but I would think community updates/marketing would be a huge priority before release. Hell, it would only take 1 part time employee to take assets of the game and present them to everyone in some form of media.

It just doesn't feel right. Dat eerie silence is seriously unsettling.

This is my feeling as well. I know damn well the reason we haven't seen Camo or Jetpack yet is because they're the same thing we hated in Reach.

Wat? Right now the MP feels ridiculously good. MLG players are working on the MP strategy guide and other community players are helping us polish certain modes. Eerie silence is not silent here, it's loud, loud crunching.

Does anyone know (if MLG does pick Halo 4 up) the amount of time it would take for the playlist to be added? Or if there will be a Team Hardcore on launch like H3?

No. I meant that no playlist should be called MLG or something. 1st MLG is a brand. It is an advertisement. 2nd It looks like that it is the "official supported tournament by Microsoft, Bungie" etc. which leads to strengthen their monopoly. I am definitely overreacting in this case.

I know some of you got shot by a Promeathean sniper, was it like an instant shot or a stream? I could see them doing the focus rifle as a sentinel beam again.

It's hard to get too worked up about the Beam Rifle/Focus Rifle distinction when the description for the Jackal calls the Plasma Pistol a Carbine, as Blueblur1 said.

Here's hoping it's a Focus Rifle.

To be fair, the descriptions are for what the toy is actually equipped with, not what the render is shown with. Its pretty common for the description to deviate from the render when they announce these things, but still be accurate referring to the actual item.

But I kinda hope the Focus Rifle returns as well as the Beam Rifle.. They are way different when it comes to how they operate and would definitely give some good variety in the game. Speaking of weapons.. I wonder if Brutes will return (I hope), and if so, what weapons they will bring back into the sandbox.

I wish I could abandon a game and still have a playlist in it. And like you just said, the MLG community can't even get new content in it now, because the upper MLG management are the only ones allowed to submit changes.

A community playlist where the community is not allowed to be involved.

Yeah, although a little overstated I know what you mean.

I guess "MLG" is just an easy way of making a home for the "competitive" players really.

It seems like an easy way to fill a niche so they use it, cant say I blame them.

What would you do to make a home for MLG players but not have the whole dog and pony show?



Btw, A little part of me almost died when I thought you meant no community content

Does the Elite not get killed by Focus Rifle-like weapon in the E3 presentation? It looks like a beam and not a shot. But it could be the Light Rifle.

A large contingent of their forums have always claimed that the playlist isn't good enough (h3 OR the Reach version) and play only customs already anyway.

I do agree with Hypertrooper mostly on what he said. Just make a Team Hardcore that has the various hardcore gametypes in it. 343's HC gametypes, MLG HC gametypes, and other community-made HC gametypes.

I enjoyed Team Hardcore in Halo 3 before it was converted to MLG, because it did interesting things like BR start and Ally-only radar. H3 didn't really have a way to have gametypes co-exist, but now with multi-choice voting it'd be possible.

That would suck for them, I dont care for MLG but its undeniable that is a legitimate player base, hopefully they have a matchmaking hopper.

From everything Ive witnessed over Reach it seems MLG managing the playlist isnt optimal, but it also seems like it would cause problems if 343 made a playlist that MLG didnt like.
