My word the difference in quality going from monitor speakers to 5.1 surround sound is enormous. You have a deep base in your grenades and the like, and the difference in quality in the menu music is fantastic.
Haha, first match in MW3 after getting the Elite content from the giveaway thread, and I get a DLC map.
You hear me, 343 playlist management? Call of Duty is better at getting me in a match with DLC than a damn Halo game.

I'd imagine it is moreso the sheer volume of people with DLC in COD that means it's actually easier to find a DLC map.
I don't think that many people actually buy the Halo DLC, I kinda wish they had of offered some substantial discounts or made them free ala Halo 2, just to address this.
I know people would hold off buying until they were free, but I don't think those people would of bought them otherwise.
Better? Call of Duty is hand down the best at DLC implementation in the industry. There is no equal.
This is so funny to me.
CoD map packs set the standard in price and quality.
Even if that quality is just half the pack being old maps with new lighting.
Let's talk about Autosentry.
Do you guys think it will have a "construction time" like a TF2 turret, or be an instant deploy like equipment in Halo 3?
I'm hoping for a "construction time."
I also don't want it to be playlist restricted. I really think the rules/availability of all weapons, grenades, packages, and abilities should be universal in standard playlists.
Damage is gonna be really risky on it.
It can't be too powerful, because then its like having an extra player on your team focus firing. Camping next to a sentry would be too good.
If it's too weak it can be pointless, but that puts emphasis on its placement and use.
I think with sprint, hardlight shield, camo (which would make you invisible to turrets) and jet/thruster pack, the damage can afford to be higher.
A team running multiple sentries could then be pushed on with a team countering by using camo and hardlight.
I just hope we get a chance to see it soon.
They should do a UNSC Infinity "Training Program" inspired breakdown of the armor abilities. An Auntie Dot sounding voice that's all like
>Hardlight Shield
>Developed from blah blah blah technology
>Anti-small arms fire blah blah canon blah
>Be warned, vulnerable to blah blah and fully charged Plasma Pistol bolts
>Melees can penetrate the Hardlight Shield, but not Plasma Sword technolgy
Something like that.
Well I'm not buying Halo 4 anyway 'till the MLG playlist is added, so if they don't pick it up, I won't be buying the game.
Actually, I may buy it if there's a decent ranking system, plus a playlist that has none of the sprint/AA/Recoil/Bloom stuff.
You are saying it without even playing the game. Somehow I want that the game stays to its original gameplay. If it is not a shipwreack as Reach was.As long as AA's aren't in MLG, I'm good.
I want Making Of's too and I hope we will get some. But I can live to get BTS from Campaign and Spartan Ops after the release. Multiplayer has to happen still...I enjoy these, but they're not about the development of the game, which is what I and others have been asking for.
Do you think we will face it in Halo 4? For sure it will be mentioned in the game. But what we have seen, I am definitely expecting to not fight it.Ooh, that sounds pretty interesting.
I'm betting the ''greater evil'' is the ancient evil in Halo 4.
Quality in CoD maps especially MW3 is dreadful. Price is also pretty steep.
Halo 3 had them beat on both the quality and price of the maps. Hell id say even reach did.
I don't know what it is but something feels "off" about Halo 3's aiming, not as bad as Reach but there is still something weird there.
Also if I have to play Construct one more fucking time! D:
The Aim Acceleration in Halo 3 is atrocious.
My friend who played at RTX said the aiming feels like H:CE and H2, which is a huge step in the right direction.
Well I mean even with screen delay at SDCC Halo 4 felt better than Halo 3 or Halo: Reach (the one TV without the screen delay felt AMAZING!) I just forgot how bad aim acceleration sucked.
Not my fault I don't want another game like Reach. My opinion. You've got yours, I have got mine.

What a joke of a post.

edit: And about Aim Acceleration. When I went back to Halo 3 is took me like 2 games to adjust but then it was fine. Then I played Reach against last night and it was totally fine. I'm convinced this aim acceleration doesn't exist hahahaha
Hi everyone! My Neogaf account just got approved, so I wanted to start by asking Frankie the answer to a most crucial question I happen to be discussing on Waypoint right now:
Will there ever be a vehicle in the Halo universe called the 'Moa'?
Such an awesome and fierce animal is rivaled by none and feared by all who know it's name. To inspire terror in the enemies of the UNSC and to ensure the everlasting success of the Halo franchise, I humbly ask you if a vehicle be name in the Moas' honour.
So uhhhh.. how's everyone doing?

Yep. Probably why there was an influx of people on the MLG forums asking how to get a better BR when Halo 3 was released. Aiming in Halo 2 was no problem.

It was probably leading shots in Halo 3 that screwed with everyone.
Ooh, I've been thinking about making the same upgrade lately. If anyone could recommend me some 5.1 systems, that'd be awesome. I know next to nothing about this stuff. My word the difference in quality going from monitor speakers to 5.1 surround sound is enormous. Turns out when guns act like guns and not laser tag, people dun get confused
Maps in COD always show in matchmaking, making whatever they cost a way better deal than whatever they cost in Halo. Not sure about the model for MW3 is, but MW2 and Blops packs were 5 maps for $15, which is a better deal per map than Halo's 3 maps for $10, and those maps always show in matchmaking.Quality in CoD maps especially MW3 is dreadful. I like this kid. He may rise.
You've just outright set your mind completely on a game you haven't played.
Guess we got a lot of people who practice Zoophilia. Why have a vehicle to remember a moa when you can ride a moa?
Designing your game around real life limitations is terrible, especially when your game involves purple aliens.
I do that with every game. Why get your hopes up for something that may be total rubbish?
And no, it isn't 343's fault. It was Bungies.

Hi everyone! My Neogaf account just got approved . . . So uhhhh.. how's everyone doing?
I thought Halo 1 was the pinnacle of game design, you know, where you had to actually lead shots with the pistol.
The Halo fanbase isn't very consistent on what they want though.
Thanks. And I'll keep it in mind.Welcome! I'm doing quite good actually, thanks for asking ;] Enjoy your stay and just one word of advice:
Beware.
That's because people played Halo 1 on LAN where leading your shots is fine(ish).I thought Halo 1 was the pinnacle of game design, you know, where you had to actually lead shots with the pistol.

I got the Xbox-brand one a while back. Like 2008 or 2009. Can't really help you here. :/Ooh, I've been thinking about making the same upgrade lately. If anyone could recommend me some 5.1 systems, that'd be awesome. I know next to nothing about this stuff.

So how do you know if you're going to buy a game if you say you're not going to buy it. Like, for Halo 4 you have the MLG playlist as your reason for buying. What about other games? lol
Actually don't answer that, I don't really care.
I don't see leading shots as a bad thing in theory, but for online play, nearly instant or instant bullet travel time simply makes for a much more consistent experience over a variety of connections.
It's interesting that I can go ahead and put people on ignore based on their first post and not miss anything months later. Think I'll keep pressing my luck.
