After playing the Beta since 8:00am PST until 7pm PST with only a one hour break in-between, I have this to say:
Good
The Pistol. What an AMAZING weapon. It really aleviates the stress of having AR starts knowing you have a reliable buddy in your back pocket at all times.
Sprinting. Such a useful, quick and vital Armor Ability.
Evade. Enough said.
DMR. Great replacement for the BR.
Needle Rifle. Perfectly compliments the DMR even though it requires an extra shot or two because its accuracy seems to be better than the DMR's.
Assault Rifle. Hate to say it, but this is actually a good weapon in Reach. Burst firing really makes a difference here (I was getting some SERIOUS range with this while burst-firing)
Bad/Don't like/Fuck it
Grenades. I don't know if it's because of the small maps we're forced to play on until May 7th or the grenades themselves, but man they're fucking powerful. It's good that they're much stronger than Halo 3's, but they don't have to be THIS strong.
Armor Lock and Active Camo. These two Armor Abilities are uselss, imo. Armor Lock just makes you a sitting duck where I can just spam nades or wait for you to get out of it to destroy you and Active Camo seems uselss other than its radar jamming abilities. I *always* spot the Camo guy.
The UI. Not only is the font size for the text that appears on the left-hand side too small, but the reticules for certain weapons are too transparent which make it hard to tell how much it's blooming, most notably for the Pistol.
Jaggies. Seriously, what the fuck?
Iffy On
Jetpacks. When a map compliments it, it works great (SwordBase), but on a map like Powerhouse, it's too cheap. I don't want people gaining unfair heights on me and even spawn camping me from ridiculous places just because they flew there.
Overall I'm very happy with Reach. Sage did a great job and lived up to what he tried to accomplish. Hopefully he can do the same for Modern Warfare 3.
