Somehow I get the feeling that Certain Affinity and 343 Industries are not done working together.

Epic Avatar.

I have that same feeling as well.

As far as I can tell Certain Affinity is pretty kick ass as well, so its like the Chief and Arbiter teaming up to make maps :p

They've certainly been on a hot streak.

Somehow I missed the fact that they were involved with Waypoint. Neat.

Edit: As well as Black Ops maps/modes, apparently?

I was glad to see Certain Affinity's new offices, and that they've grown to 50+ people working multiple projects. I remember reading about them shortly after they formed and it was a handful of guys in a tiny office. Start ups are challenging and risky, so I'm glad to see a group that puts out quality as they do get rewarded for it.

Yeah I see a lot of start up businesses in my home town, only the really nice ones come out on top. I just can't help but feel a lot of them don't get their chance. We almost had some small developer relocate to our town, but the building's rent was too high.

Yeah, they seem like a good bunch of people hopefully they got something big brewing behind the scenes and these kind of contract jobs with devs like Bungie, 343 and Valve keep them going and give them great experience.

What do you do for a living, Ghaleon?

I've got it, let's start our own company!

We can make new Halo 2 maps (H2 remakes of Isolation and Boneyard), and then convince 343i to publish them (alongside the release of H2 XBLA).

Hey guys, I tried the weekly last night with a buddy and all 5 attempts it loaded up all the enemies on the other side of the gate for some reason. I finally tried it by myself and it worked without incident on the first try. Anyone else experienced this? Sent you a message last night about it Ghal, hope you don't have the same problem with your daughter. Nutters, couldn't quit make out what you said about it but sounded like you had three friends that played together and it worked for them?

Is the behind the scenes you are all talking about on live? Waypoint? website?

In my experience, that happens if you get through the gate after Jun radios Kat.

I only found out the easiest way to do that section yesterday. If you crouch up to the Elite on the bridge, you can beat him down no problem, and then grab the forklift and warp through without much attention at all.

EDIT: The BTS is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpsqbTRYRD4 It's also on Waypoint.

Can't watch that from work but I just ran up and did the quick assasination on the elite and assassed the grunts while they slept. Then hopped into forklift, etc. I didn't do anything differently at all by myself from when I was playing with my friend. I'm just really confused why it didn't work.

If your friend moves backwards at all after they warp past the gate at that load point, the enemies will spawn. It's just a matter of not moving anywhere but forward after the warp.

The only thing that I kind of bothered me about the ViDoc was that they seem to spend a lot more time covering Condemned than the other maps. When the got to Highlands I was like, "Yes!" Then it was over before it started.

Thinks the Evil Empire is just misunderstood.

Don't worry, it's only just started.

I die everytime at the scene, where the elite/grunt is using the turret. It's a bit earlier than the giant animals. Any tips, how I can survive it?

So when are you going to unveil the new achievements?

Snipe the grunt then make a run for it. Try to hop over the rock as quickly as possible to cut the line of sight from the Elites behind. And toss some grenades ahead so the upcoming Jackals get hit. You'll die a few times but eventually you'll make it.

Or run to the Right of the building and up the steps, assasinate the grunt, jump down and run for it, much more effective, as there doesn't seem to be an angry mob following you every bloody time.

I'm pretty sure he didn't, saw his mark continually move forward but I'll ask him about it.

Awesome ViDoc. I especially liked this comment as it was worded very carefully Gaf :p

@Dani: You made that video far more hilarious with your talk of using closed captions on it :lol

Highlands is probably the map I'm looking forward to the most. Good to know there's more coming.

Really curious as to what kind of achievements we'll see. Hopefully a couple Firefight ones, I need an excuse to get my friends playing FF again.

Grab the camo at the start of the level, and crouch-walk anti-clockwise around that area, stopping behind cover to recharge it fully. There's a handy rock for this near the group of four Grunts. Make your way through the back of the building, beat down the guy on the turret, then hop onto the cliff and walk along the top until it forces you down by the Grunt and Jackal that are between the water tower area and the Gúta.

Nope.

How is this Forklift working? I need many tries before I get through the door. But I want to do it so fast as possible.

A reason, why I love Halo so much. Too many ways to solve a situation. I did what Coco had said. I sniped the grunt. After that I threw some grenades to distract the other enemies.

You need to get out of the forklift slightly to the right of the seam between the doors.

EDIT: Yeah, whenever I did that I always died on the sprint, although I didn't think of throwing grenades as distractions. Slowly working my way around was the only option I had.

While Condemned was a given for me I have to say that the more I see of Highlands the more I'm liking it. It just might be the shot in the arm that BTB needs.

Thats one thing but i think the real shot in the arms btb needs is to get rid off all those shitty slayer variant aswell as headhunter, put more focus on objective and for gods sake put the bomb game types back in! I was thinking why not remove team objective and add a objective focused 6v6 squad battle playlist.

I like them rocking the old school Sennheiser HD-515, friends used those in Halo 2. I used the 555. Amazing how much playing with headphones can make.

Happy Birthday Major, mine is next week!

I have to wonder if the new Firefight map will make it into Score Attack immediately upon release or not.

Dammit, that video tempts me, but Halo has always had great ViDocs.

Ok that video was great. It's all gonna be alright. :)

I would kill for them to take over reach completely right now, including playlists and title updates.

Happy Birthday Major! Does your wife normally play Halo? Or is this an isolated occasion? My wife won't get near it :(
Haha thanks! She usually tries to play campaign, but doesn't normally like multiplayer because she sees the death screen too much. Grifball is a little better and more sport-like. My wife is a Mario fan all the way.

I feel old haha. Gotta start applying for my AARP card and start eating at Denny's.

Why is it that you dont want to purchase it?

Vidoc was fantastic. I love the selective focus shots at the top and later in the piece as well. I'm guessing they're able to tweak the camera settings within the build to achieve this as it doesn't really look like post processing. Nice touch guys. Also, those concept drawings be hawt, yo. Would definitely spend some time ogling hirez versions if they were made available. And finally, I hope those shots of CTF being played in Highlands actually mean we'll be playing it ourselves in the DLC hopper and beyond.

There are way better things you should be getting your wife to agree to on your birthday.
Raise the bar.

Hush, you young whippersnapper. Live it up while you still have the desire to integrate with society.

...and Happy Birthday. :)
