Assuming the Scarab is returning, the main gun needs to be insta-kill again. Halo 3 Scarabs, while cool, are basically harmless unless you are on foot. Scarabs should be an "OH SHI-" enemy, where they are pretty much just speedbumps in Halo 3 once you know how to deal with them.

Also Urk- What ended up being the problem that caused the Delay in the Halo 3: Multiplayer Beta? Hope it doesn't happen this time around.

I am going to guess that the blue team will lose majority of the games now. :p On a check up of the games.. how is the blue team winning with a man down :O :lol

What is more surprising is that he got all 16 kills with it.. not a single beat down kill. WTF.

Never said the AR couldn't get someone kills. Especially on small maps with no radar. I pulled that bullet-shitter out plenty of times in good knowledge that I too would be able to toss trying aside and get a few easy kills. I'd never consider using it exclusively nor did it always pay off for you to do so either.

This is the part where I'd link to games where the top scorers had BR TOD but there's no need.

You are a savant with the AR and in the same token annoying as fuck to play against at times.
BRing you through your hail of bullets makes up for it though.

Sure, that was a tiny hassle -- but (very very) easily overcome with matchmaking in MP and the Party system.

Step 1) Start MP matchmaking.
Step 2) In full lobby say "Hey, anyone want to play Firefight?
Step 3) Create Party.
Step 4) Play Firefight.

Easy as pie, minor quirk really.

So my 360 has fallen prey to RROD. Now, I've got a Halo 3 edition console and I'm concerned that Microsoft will send me back a completely different console; maybe even a standard white console. I'm thinking of typing up a note that states something along the lines of "I want this 360 back, Please do not send me another console" and taping the note to the console. Is there anything else you guys would recommend I do so I don't get screwed with a standard 360?

I'm super paranoid about this.

Write a note specifically detailing how you want THAT particular 360, and take a picture. If they mess up, call CS and demand $$$ until they agree to send you one. Normally they send back the same type of 360 (Elite for an Elite, Red RE for a Red RE, etc).

Man customs was great last night, left at 3:30am GMT and good thing I did, woken up earlier for a trip to see some relations.
Props to Dani as always for running it (& :lol at how many times Letters just walked off the edge on "Ascension", saved my ass many a time).

You could even ring before hand, get the persons name etc. Definitely put a letter in there.

I just sent my Halo 3 360 in for RROD repair a couple of months ago - came back as a Halo 3 360. (I think it's the same one.)

I can't promise it ALWAYS works that way - but it did for me.

I can't remember his GAF tag so I don't know if he still posts here or not, but I ran into TheLintendo in matchmaking last night. :D I was on a guest account, and I'm pretty sure his team beat ours. But it was a good game!

One of the main things that changed was that after you left I decided to use the AR exclusively. No melees, no grenades, no other weapons.

And my argument was never that the AR wins 100% of the time in 100% of situations. My argument was that if you have skill with it, it can be devastating (just like lots of other weapons, including the BR). I think I proved that.

If you know what you're doing with the BR, then BR will beat AR in almost every situation. But if you screw up and miss your four-shot in a CQC situation, then the AR has a good chance at wining. This is where all of the frustration came from last night. The BR lost to the AR in CQC situations, and that frustrated the guy with the BR - that his mid-range weapon lost in a close-range battle.

this is where i get the most frustrated playing halo. losing to an ar when i know i should have beaten him.
