I just played a match of Halo 2 for the first time in a while and I've decided no matter what Bungie does to Reach nothing will be better than the decision to make the human weapons hitscan. When I was playing Halo 2 people were actually dying when I shot them in the head. I <3 Halo 2 BR.

I'm not usually a minute-by-minute person, but when will Bungie be showing the ViDoc to the press? Perhaps we can get minor spoiler tweets/articles before the end of the day talking about exactly what the Vidoc will be about.

Edit: Just simplifying - I hope Reach doesn't have the milking/release problem that Halo did. Frankie saying "more maps than Halo 2" and not seeing the end result after the last map pack has been released in H3 is less than stellar in my eyes and takes away from promises we'll get about Reach in the future.

I think Bungie may've been turned off by MS Nazi-like distribution of their Halo 3 maps (delaying and splitting up the mythic maps so that they'd come out for Halo Wars and ODST, effectively a year after Bungie finished them, and never making 2 year old DLC free). That may've the amount of content they were willing to create for Halo 3 knowing how it would be handled. Unfortunately, from a DLC distribution standpoint, MS is of course publishing Reach so I don't have a lot of faith things will be much different this time around. My only hope is that the formation of 343i means better publishing communications and relations between Bungie and MS during Reach's lifespan. Still the Halo 3 map packs aren't free though so I don't think much has changed and Bungie will again have to split the player-base up each time they release DLC which could influence the amount they pump out.

Needless to say, if I have to buy Halo Wars 2 to get my Reach map pack I'mma hold Coco P. Jojo personally responsible.

I've already screwed up the dates once, so at the risk of doing so again: I though the vidoc was being shown at X10 today, and hitting Marketplace around 2:00am Pacific tomorrow morning.

Frak, you're right. For some reason I thought the Vidoc would be released at the same time as the X10 event.

Be on the lookout on 2/11 – we’ll be showing Reach's first ViDoc to the press at X10 and it will be on Marketplace and web the following morning.
