oh well the dong rifle looks awesome and good to see dual wielding gone.
I have also been away from gaf for a while, it's good to be back.
Has it been confirmed that dual-wielding is out? I suspected it because no screen-shots show any dual-wielding even when there are weapons which have traditionally be dual-wieldable like plasma pistols. I heard from someone that it was confirmed in some podcast, maybe the OXM podcast or some other one. I hope dual-wielding is out, I thought the same variations of dual-wieldable weapons were much more satisfying in Halo CE. The Plasma Rifle for example is a great weapon, and once you had to dual-wield it they had to nerf it for balance. I would like to see nondual-wieldable versions of all the traditionally dual-wieldable weapons like the Spiker, Plasma Pistol, SMG, etc.
I thought the vidoc was probably the best one Bungie has ever put out. I'm very happy to see how awesome the graphics look. The cinematics and faces truly look like a generational leap. I'm happy to see the Elites, Brutes and Engineers in there. The weapons looking amazing. I've always found weapons in other games to be more satisfying, maybe because of the sound. If you remember the SMG in H2, and then using the SMG in H3 it felt a lot better and most of that can be attributed to the sound.
Sprinting looks great, and we know about cloaking. Are there any other armor abilities we know of yet?
The telescoping reticule is very interesting. I get the feeling that people won't be able to run around with a Sniper Rifle using it as a close-range weapon and getting no-scopes anymore. Actually, if you go off how things worked in Shadowrun and most other FPS games I don't think you'll be able to jump, strafe, and shoot as accurately with the DMR as we did with the BR in the previous games. I think this would be a welcome change and would make the game much more balanced. Clearly some people would not like this, but I think it's a given to some capacity based on what we've seen in the vidoc. It makes sense that a DMR wouldn't work as well as an AR once you're in close quarters and you would switch to an AR, unlike the previous BR and sniper which people would use everywhere.

- MP maps are lifted from campaign, meaning they are spaces the AI is already familiar navigating.
I don't think this means the maps will be campaign spaces as in ODST. I feel that historically bungie has made their maps based off campaign environments as in Citadel, Valhalla, and Avalanche. Maybe a mix of exact campaign sets and familiar environments but I can't see them going with exclusively exact campaign locales.
