Wasn't this game supposed to feature a Spartan cast or something ?
Maybe they just meant "a spartan cast"...

Skilotonn said:Visually, it's the same engine that you're playing in - it's not a video, or CG as some are suggesting.

Skilotonn said:Now this is different to what you were portraying earlier - here you're actually acknowledging that it's using the game's engine instead of being intangible and grouping it with CG... and really, there was no huge jump with the models and textures in Halo 3 or ODST from what I remember as well, aside from the bloom and AA...

Or almost like a snippet of a cinematic early in the game, giving a sneak-peak at the new engine and cast. Totally unexpected, I know.EazyB said:Edit: Still wish the trailer showed more. It was pretty much a "here's the cast" video.

Which one isn't? There's only one I see that even looks close to being an ODST ("small" guy in the middle at 1:29). Of course, I could be wrong, but it looks like all in this group all share the same massive angular chest as the Master Chief.Revelations said:No. Because some of them arn't wearing Mjolnir armor as seen in snap shots.
They look bulkier than ODSTs at first glance.Revelations said:No. Because some of them arn't wearing Mjolnir armor as seen in snap shots.

fair enough, I honestly couldnt tell. the faces make it all look so old/bad. the environments look nice though.Metalic Sand said:Joke post? Reach is a new engine.
You're taking my statement to literally, which is partially my fault.-PXG- said:If you knew any devs, you would know that a lot of them don't have the time or desire to see or play other games. Sure, people DO copy other people's ideas. But sometimes, if you see similar things in games, it's a possibility that it's a coincidence.
The way they look isn't necessarily indicative of the way they behave. Compare this trailer to a trailer for Army of Two, which one seems more mature? I mean mature as in classy, not gratuitous and vulgar. The dialogue here is still typical gung-ho American bravado, but it's not so over the top as to turn it into self parody.tak said:You're taking my statement to literally, which is partially my fault.
My comment was mainly to point out my disappointment that Bungie seems to be turning the spartans into the fist-bumping bros from Army of Two. Spartants have traditionally been portrayed as professionals in the books and games (ie. not the type of people that would modify they're standard armour by painting a skull on it).

Been a while since I read the books, but I seem to remember them mentioning the spartans modding their armor all the time. I agree the skull on the helmet is a bit much though.tak said:My comment was mainly to point out my disappointment that Bungie seems to be turning the spartans into the fist-bumping bros from Army of Two. The dialogue, it bears repeating, was terrible.

You're right, it's not on the same level as Army of Two, but any step in that direction is a departure from what has been traditionally done in the Halo universe.Crunched said:The way they look isn't necessarily indicative of the way they behave. The Spartans never die line was just thrown in there and was almost as cheesy as the recent Halo Legends stuff (which was awesome, but also cheesy). :S I really hope it's reworked and not like that throughout the game.GhaleonEB said:Really want an HD version. Do I even need to go find an ODST picture for comparison?

There's a gross, almost plastic-like sheen on her face. Maybe you can excuse it as being sweat, but it looks unnatural. Her face overall is much better than anything else in the series (compared to Dare and her Mt. Everest chin especially), but there's something weird about it.
Watching the better quality version posted a little bit ago makes it more impressive. Looks much better than H3.
He said "Even the parts ONI didn't want me to", which I liked. Hopefully hinting at ONI having a big part in the story of this game.GhaleonEB said:Really want an HD version. My only issue is that she looks too healthy. Spartans are supposed to be pale and sickly looking due to their faces almost never being exposed to the sun.Crunched said:There's a gross, almost plastic-like sheen on her face.
