Technically, you're wrong about that. Have a look at the better quality video.

They're well ahead of Gears of War 2 in that regard, and on par with KZ2 if we're comparing cinematics. Sure it might not be entirely representative of gameplay, we'll have to wait and see.

I didn't see anything worth getting excited about. I doubt the graphics will be anywhere near that good, despite the trailer being only marginally impressive in that area. I've been bitten twice already by promises made by original Halo announcement trailers. I'll start caring once hands-on gameplay videos start surfacing.

Alright, so Noble 6 is a Spartan-III that survived Pegasi? I don't know anything about that. What book talks about the Spartans on Pegasi? And I wonder where the other 5 Spartans are from. I'm gonna guess they are all Spartan-III's as well.

So want an HD version NOW so I can make a new avatar of the sniper Spartan. :)

Probably should have indicated in some way that I was being sarcastic. People were talking about how unrealistic the "CG" in a Halo 3 trailer was when the characters being depicted were actually real actors.

Glad to see some different spartans shown (haven't played much HALO)
They did not have to tease us with that knife being sharpened though, would really like something ninja gaiden-ish with a spartan using a sword :lol :lol

Well if its anything.. Halo Wars, and Halo Legends both show Brutes were a part of the Covenant by the time Reach happens.
So bring on Brutes and Elites in the battle at the same time. :D

Just came home and watched it.
OMG @ the new engine (incredible) and an even bigger OMG @ people both pretending it isnt impressive, as well as acting as if this is some fabricated promo trailer..its from the actual game.

Clearly in-engine and clearly stunning though I would have liked to have seen some action in the first look, but I think the "media blitz" come mid January will give us just that.

This game is going to shine bright with this engine. :D

Can anyone identify the weapons in that picture ? I see a Sniper rifle, I believe the engineer has a shotgun, and the soldier has a battle rifle although it looks somewhat different.

The outcry that it was a CG trailer is pretty much the highest (unintentional) compliment you could pay to the new engine. :D

The heavy doesnt appear to be holding a turret. Looks like some kind of heavy rifle. Also the middle spartan has some kind of rifle with a flip up front sight its kinda hard to see but it definitely has a front sight.

That middle guy is holding the BR, it just looks slightly different. But oh believe me its the BR.. its even in the trailer. :)

I'm telling you the class system will be like shadowrun. All of the spartans will be able to use every weapon, but some will be better at using certain weapon or just utilize them differently.

Welp that settles it, you can clearly see Aliasing on some objects every now and then, it's ingame, I want to thank all the people who worked so hard eating crow, saying it was CG. Without you this post wouldn't be possible.


I also look forward to the people who will downplay this trailer and say it doesn't look that great.
The same people who said it was CG.
