Yea, I'm getting really sick of shooting people 6 times with a BR and their shields don't even drop. The game has been unbearable for me lately due to bad connections. I know I don't have the greatest connection, but I rarely if ever got frustrated with people not dying from shots in MW2 or BC2 for that matter, but people in Halo regularly walk over or sit on my nades and it does absolute squat to them, yet their nades can take down my shields and I'm 10 feet away from them, so stupid.

I really hope hitscan alleviates a lot of this hit detection issues I get constantly in 3, also hope the connection/region filters actually work too.

if the servers are dedicated, there is no host and therefore no host lag.

However, there is a constant latency to all.

I just got a new Arcade so I can bring an Xbox to school this fall, and I wouldn't want to lose money just to get a special console. Unless it's realllly awesome.

OTOH I look at various other games that feature 32 player games that feature just as much lag than 8 player matchups I've seen in Halo 3. Doubt that anything will change this gen but it has to change at one point.

I think Halo's net code is pretty weak with 16 people, which is why I'm anxious to see the changes considering that they're upping the player count.

I think it's just the fact that people go down a lot faster in CoD and Battlefield that makes it less frustrating. Battlefield uses dedicated servers but can still act up once and a while but the host advantage can definitely be felt in CoD but only in the rare situation that you're not just shotting/getting shot in the back.

Reach's netcode should be better and hitscan will improve things but there's no way in hell any MS published Halo game will have dedicated servers so it'll always be an issue.

And good times? dude, I thought we were planning on breaking our Halo disks after last nights games. :lol

:lol Sounds like a night of MM to me. I found that the biggest buzz-kill for Reach anticipation is a small dose of Halo 3. Sersiously, if the wait for Reach is killing any of you guys, just jump onto Halo 3 MM and you'll be good to go after a round or two.

Like Luke said, I'm more surprised he hasn't been dealt with already. I can understand why MS doesn't wanna throw down the cash to actually make their .net logins secure to these things but to not take any action when a publicly prolific abuser of their broke-ass system does it time and time again without punishment is just plain stupid.

Hopefully Major Nelson's incident is embarrassing enough for MS to actually do something this time around.
