I believe Bungie said that there is not a option for first person theater mode in the beta. And I don't know if things get uploaded on the Bungie site and everything. Would be difficult.

Okay bungie, I reread the update. So do we have to play in a match with you on the 14th to get the "visual flair"? Or just play some on the 14th? Is 1 match good enough? :lol

What playlists will you be in? And how many bungie employees will be playing and able to give out emblems to their opponents/allies?



Love the montage, Bladed. I don't agree with all of the non-Halo music choices, but the Halo music fit perfectly.

Also, in the end credits, NeoGAF seems to be an "aweome" community :lol

Some great stuff in there. Tashi did something in the most recent Halo 3 customs I think would be worthy, but I understand you had a deadline for footage.

Yeah, everyone would have to capture their own footage without having the B.net support. Its probably not gonna be possible.

Yeah, I don't get it too. And I think Europe is a bit screwed. But i'll just try to play a few hours that day and see what happens.

Makes me wish I could play in the weekly customs with you guys more often.

I would assume the music choice had to do with youtube pulling an audio swap down the road if you did use a licensed piece of music?

Im watching the montage now and im enjoying it, so far the music matches the gameplay nicely - thanks for the effort Bladed!

I also have to say - H2 was a lot more 'ugly' than I expected, theres a lack of feedback when shooting people or getting shot which really makes it that much harder.

The way I read the update it made it seem like theres:
A emblem just for playing H2 ever
A special armour for playing on the last day (with bungie?)
A unknown prize for getting the very last point before the servers go down.

Partly, also, I thought using everything from the H2 OST would be a fitting send off for the game :) Plus not everyone likes the same type of music.

Man, I really should have submitted some clips. I presumed it was all going to be BR kills and ridiculous snipes (though there were a few of those, and I really gotta move to the US), whereas most of my saved films are quirkier.

I could have gone either way really. It could have been 10 minutes of crazy shenanigans or 10+ minutes of MLG 4shots and noscopes. I tried to settle somewhere in the middle ground, for better ot worse.

I have a few clips that are nasty snipes and no-scopes and so forth, but I don't seem to rack up overkills+ very often. A lot of the things I save are wacky, like getting an overkill with the flag, or a blind double kill with clever frags, or splattering a laser guy with a crazily flipped warthog.

Edit: disappointed there was no EazyB chopper rampage anywhere in there.

The montage is great Bladed. I really wish my roommate's Xbox would make his way back from MS. I should have it Wednesday night for Halo 2 though.

I really hate my country sometimes!

So basically, the tournament was like this:

I played on one of those exposition xboxes you see at the mall, with shitty/destroyed controllers that are "chained" down so no one steals them and the tiniest tv they could find.

I couldn't aim at all. I put the sensitivity at 4 but the controller was so shitty it felt like it was on 1.

To be fair the smaller the TV the better for competative play. Screw touching controllers which are broken apart and greasy though :lol

I went to a semi Halo tournement (was more of a meet up and mess around thing) and we have like 42inch tv's - it was horrible (I cant believe im saying that)

:( I know dude.

To be honest, a lot of clips get cut off too quick. Some people only really had one that I could use. I wish I could have squeezed more in but I think people will have a hard time sitting down and watching 16 minutes as is.

I was a little confused at first because you used my gamertag (Redeemed) as my GAF username, but it's no big deal. I just wish my clips could have been better. Some of you guys have some serious skill. :(

Yeah awesome montage Bladed, really got me wanting to play some Halo 3. So I quickly jumped on for a couple of games :lol

I've been playing it alot more lately than I have in quite a while and it really is still so much fun, the random shit that can happen is awesome.

Such as this game me and my buddy had last night, where our 2 teammates and 1 of the other teams disconnected. So it was me and him vs 3 of them and it came right down to the wire, it was so fucking intense and hectic especially during the last couple of minutes, loved it.

Apologies for the tangent, just felt like gushing a bit.

Shit! That was the one GT I didnt recognise. Your Gaf name got lost in the pc crossover and I just had to go with the GT in the end. Sorry about that dude!

Sweet, finally a silent Xbox while playing Halo 3(and the Mythic Multiplayer disc).

I wonder when Bungie will let all the maps go free, so I don't have to swap discs when I want to play Halo 3 campaign and Halo 3 multiplayer. It would be a nice gesture on the on the run up to Reach, after the Beta's finished.

Bladed, that's awesome. Editing was great (I liked the PIP throughout) and the music was perfect for the montage. The tag at the end was also a nice touch.

I never did see anyone on my FL play H2 last night, but I went in and played a few random games. It was fun; hopefully I can get in on some games with you guys on Wednesday.

Played some H3 social skirmish last night as well. One game in particular was quite interesting. One Flag on High Ground, and we were matched up against a team of three Generals and one potential second-accounter. One of the guys on my team (Father V) was such a loudmouth douchebag (I can't believe that people actually refer to themselves in the third person) that I had to set my mic down. After getting thoroughly trounced, my wonderful teammates all quit, leaving little 'ol me to attempt to take the flag. Turns out these Generals were quite the good sports and escorted me to a pity cap, turning what was a pretty unenjoyable experience into something fun.

Anyway, I sure hope Reach's matchmaking can keep the highly-skilled Generals away from partly-crappy players like me. Or at least pit me against some good sports. :D
