My attempt to summarize The Arena and its components. Knowing "a certain number" will be quantified for the Daily Ratings and Divisional standings, I'd appreciate if you guys can let me know if I missed a pertinent detail. It's a lot of information to try and compress.

If your thread is specifically beta-related, didn't they say there'd be no Elite vs Elite for now? I also think you should stress that the day ratings won't be based (solely) on kills or k/d spread, that Bungie are trying to quantify your performance as a whole (in the same way NFL quarterbacks are quantified), as just how that rating is calculated is one of the things I am most excited to see in the beta.

Which makes me a colossal nerd, I guess.

Forgive me Bungie for ever bitching about the Halo 3 respawn system. I have experienced the worst POS spawn systems in the last few months (MW2 and BFBC2) and I have learned to appreciatte Halo 3's a fuckton more.

To be fair, Battlefield spawns are equally awful for all. Like, sometimes people are just going to pop up behind you in the worst possible (and least explicable) way, but you're going to get to do the same to them just as often.

Whereas MW just repeatedly drops you under gunships, laughing.

They were pretty average players without a Hog and Laser to dominate with, would love for some of GAF to play a few matches like that to understand some of the complaints about those particular items.

As far as I know, they haven't said how long it will last, but I would expect three weeks minimum, five weeks maximum.

I just about made it to 1000 EXP total the other week (Brigadier Grade 2, hooray!). How have you played almost twice as much as me? I remember we used to be pretty even about a year after release, I think.

My total number of Halo 3 games is also only about 2/3 of my number of Halo 2 games, but I'm not that surprised about that considering how I was constantly playing Halo 2 back in the day...

Just Cause is some of the most fun I have had playing an open world sand box game in a long time. It is essentially GTA done right.

Trust me, the full game is much better, but of course there is more to do then what was in the demo, if your unsure, it is worth a rental, you'll get your money's worth out of it as the main campaign, minus the random fun you can have, is around 20 hours long or so.

That said, the lack of visual noise in our multiplayer is, in part, a design decision.

I don't know if it's because the increase in staff or what, but it certainly seems Bungie is really nailing the core Halo gameplay of old and new with Reach.

Well usually demos are made so people can get interested in the whole game. So if a demo doesn't interest me, I usually have no interest in the full game

I guess instead of saying it's not a good game, I should've said I didn't appreciate playing it. That way people won't get mad
