I just really really want to see what happens when it dies mid-game. Does a picture of J Allard appear as he then smiles knowingly and we get a BSOD? I want to know!

Im having the same problem! :lol I just dont wanna end on a loss so im tempted to call it a day on a high note.

Dude, I went to bed at like 7 am EST after playing non stop all night since 10pm with everyone in our party after you left bro.

I'll be on today (am on now GT Cuban Legend), get the group together and we can go on a rampage like we did in that match. Or at least lose while having fun. :)

EDIT: actually this is incorrect, the game times aren't "exactly" in order with the game numbers and this one was 6 seconds too late.

I found a game ending at 11:59:59 with last kill going to GT koolin. Maybe he/she is the lucky one. :lol

The other prize for aggregated stats is the one im more interested in personally. A lot of people including myself played all day yesterday and were a little burnt out by today, losing out to someone who played fresh today (and so had a easier time) would suck. I would rather lose to someone who played on the day Bungie said you had to play on.

A bunch of people on HBO who I played with yesterday played for close to 24 hours and havent been on at all today, it would suck for them if they havent got a chance of winning and didnt even know about it.

Either way how do you know who got the final kill of the game based on game history?

I thought people were saying it wasn't. Others are getting codes that day, but Popeck was saying he's playing the same week as Halo 2 ending. So it has to be sometime on or before the 21st, right?

Oh, I thought maybe he was press (since press played Reach what, yesterday?) so he was referring to the press event being the same week as Halo 2 ending.

It's not the F&F beta but a preview event. I tried asking for F&F invites from Microsoft, but they didn't know if they'll get them. I am not sure how those codes are distributed or if Microsoft Finland will get them at all.

F&F Beta will be a matter of days before the public beta, not 2 weeks.

Sorry, I don't think I even had Live during the Halo 3 Beta, so I don't know the intricacies :lol

The best part of the Halo 3 beta FnF was playing with a generally more mature and fun oriented crew. The few days, plus a day or so due to crackdown issues, really felt like that "LAN party" experience the Halo 2 party system was trying to achieve.

This is what I enjoyed a LOT about Halo 2 the last few days, mostly everyone has been in it for the 'fun' - no one has been cheating/ modding/ trash talking and everyone seems happy to reminice about old times.

Sorry to be so off topic, but its amazing what a event like the F&F beta and Halo 2 closing can do. I guess that most of the people playing either of those are people who love Bungie and the average xbox liver hasnt bothered/ hasnt got access.

Anyway im finally calling it quits on Halo 2, I really enjoyed playing these last few days because I havent had a chance to play it much, so thanks to all the people who played with me and showed me cool gametypes and stuff. Its quite amazing that even after close to 200 games I dont think ive near scratched the surface, thats the sign of an amazing game. Im happy to end it on a good note though and now im packing up the xbox and getting on with work :lol

Yeah, for the most part Halo 2 has been relatively clean the last day or two, I've only been teabagged or called racist names just a few times. From what I remember the open Halo 3 beta was actually pretty clean the first week or so as well, until people started to get the hang of it and the maps and take it seriously.

I think at this point I'm going to go for 77 games across yesterday/today then stop, provided at least the servers stay up. Think I'm at about 60 right now.

Edit: Oh shit someone in my current match sounds like he honestly had no idea it was getting shut down, poor bastard :lol

Does that really surprise you?

I wouldnt be surprised if some people played more Halo 2 yesterday then the last few years combined. Just for the sake of a prize. Yes I played too for said prize, however I also played tons and tons of H2 when it was the "new" thing unlike many folks here. I stopped playing H2 last night because almost all the games had some sort of lag. And regarding Throwback, is it ranked double exp or just normal? and will be on playing that shortly getting thermite his "general" :p

If you want to rate them based on the weapons each map has, then Isolation has more weapons then Orbital.

But since we will rate them based on the shittyness of maps and the flow of gameplay that transpires on them, Orbital takes the crown easily. Backwash was not a terrible map, infact it was a good map, only broken once the 360 came out [the camo slowdown] Gemini was terrible but not as terrible as Orbital, as for Chiron, well I dont consider that a competitive map anyway :p

I liked Backwash and Gemini, the latter especially. I really don't understand the hate for it.

Isolation was pretty crap to play, but at least it had good atmosphere and Zombies games on it are fun.

Chiron and Orbital are both fucking garbage.

I don't care about weapons on the map when it's just two ways to each base. Eff that.

Chiron had to be joke thrown into Halo 1. No other explanation. Backwash was OK until the 360 had problems with the camo. Still wasn't overly fun, but I had decent multi-team games on there in Halo 2. Isolation is bad because it stands worthless outside Team Slayer BR. It cannot field any decent skirmish games. Default Foundry is also extremely bad, and what about the other Foundry-variant in MM (until it got taken out) Smashed? Foundry might as well be obsolete hadn't MLG saved it from its grace.

Gemini wasn't hated by me in any means, but the doors were a campers paradise. Those aforementioned are worse in my book in hated maps.

I am at a crunch at my company, and I couldn't get any Halo 2 match going on yesterday. Today, I tried to play some Halo 2, but I couldn't, so I went to catch some sleep before I start working again. Will there be some sort of badge for those who played Halo 2 at all during the 5 years of existence, or only for those who played on the last day?
