You expect 343 to deliver on a promise?

I'm expecting a list tonight along with the update.

"Hey guys, we were totally working on patches all through the Holidays, like we said! We totally promise more patches in the pipeline, and to just give you a taste of the fixes we have and to deliver on our promises....here are Spartan Ops achievements!"

It's the gift that keeps on giving! But seriously, hopefully next week's patch fixes the rest of the problems with multiplayer.

Can't find any players in the CE playlist. Stuck on searching for more players...feels like launch all over again

Edit: same thing for team slayer. Wtf is this shit

It's definitely not that. I tried Halo Reach the other day, and it took less than 30 secs to find a team slayer match, and that's with a population under 1000 for the playlist. There's no way in hell that the population for TMCC would be lower. It's just matchmaking is beyond broken.

It's a scary possibility. What if, by the time the game is working reasonably well, MM still has issues because so many people have given up on the collection?

Maybe at that point 343i will see the error of their ways and implement a custom game browser, and maybe the browser will even
actually work

There will always be the diehards who are playing it. No matter what.

People just need to know, with low populations, the odds of getting your shit kicked in are very high.
 
This shit is still broken....I find games but then seconds later the game ends the match....halfway into a game and the game suddenly ends....this has been my experience over the past few hours.

The beta is okay and all, but Halo 3 and Halo 2 Anniversary (when they work) really show why I like Bungie's past Halo MP over anything 343i could create themselves. Please fix this...

Played a couple matches today: a really fun Halo 3 round, then a laggy H2:A round.

I don.mt know what it is, but the lag whenever I play Halo 2 Anniversary is always terrible. Hit left trigger, wait 1-2 seconds, grenade is thrown.

It's really frustrating.

So the new achievement update added more bugs to the MCC..lol...you're killing me 343. Now the achievement percentages are different between checking achievements on Live and checking them in MCC. Live is correct...MCC still shows the old percentages...sucks when they can't even do something like this correctly. 343i needs to get their act together...who is leading this clown parade????

That being said....I played a bunch of games yesterday between BTB, CE and SWAT and overall had a fairly good experience with just a few dropped games. I even had a small party of two for three BTB games and it ran smoothly.

Low population isn't the problem..the matchmaking is the problem. I played some Rumble Pit in Halo 4 yesterday as well and that playlist only had a population of 273 and I found matches quickly, way faster than MCC.
 
3v3s are killing me. I played probably 10 matches of Team Slayer last night and 9 out of 10 of them were 3v3. Here's how they usually go down: 3v3 match starts, teams play for a few minutes. One guy really sucks, he quits. The other two get destroyed by the team of 3. Another guy quits. One guy stays for no reason. We play 3v1 hunting him down for 12 minutes. This is precisely what happened in the majority of my matches last night.

This is not the Halo that I remember.

Was in a party with my cousin last night: two matches 3v3 and we're split on opposite teams in each. On top of that, I got matched up with somebody and their guest in each match, who proceeded to quit a few minutes in.

Finally the 3rd game we're matched up together, but had crippling lag.

Fun. I HAD SO MUCH FUN.

Haha for real? Oh man. The longest wait time for an update yet and they can't even get a shitty achievement update right. All that hard work over the past three weeks really paid off. Amateur hour is real and you can find it at 343.

This is already happening. This game is nearly dead. You can't launch a game during holiday and 2 months later it's marginally more functional. People aren't going to stick around. They're going to bail.

It's a shame but this collection will probably always be plagued with bad connections and issues even if it gets fixed because of the small playerbase.

This too - the people sticking around will be the diehards and will stomp all over casual players, ensuring they never come back and go play more Call of Duty instead.

I don't have a problem playing against skilled players but I hate when I'm on a team that bails out at the first sign of trouble, which is what happens a lot here.
 
I just encountered a rather... interesting glitch. Seems like Saber Interactive partially made some cutscenes in the anniversary graphics, and they're still in the game.

Really surprised me, in any case.

Here you go. Not sure if it's a remnant of the anniversary conversion or just the anniversary engine playing over the regular cutscene when the game failed to load the Blur cutscene, but it's interesting to say the least.

That's actually really cool. That would be great if there were in-engine cutscenes for H2A as well.

It sounds weird, but I still prefer the original cutscenes, I think the way Bungie shot and animated the scenes had a better effect.

Perfect example right here with the Arbiter jumping out and taking his energy sword as the camera flies to him and fades to white. That's much better than the Blur version. Just like how later on when Tartarus pushes him over the edge in the Library in the Blur version, it just stops as soon as he's over. Unlike the original where the shock/plot twist kinda sinks it for a second as he falls with the music.

Even the Gravemind scene was better in the old engine from Bungie. Though this is all just my opinion. I think the original cutscenes did a better job of pacing the story. With the premade scenes, it feels jarring when it decides to jump back to gameplay.

I think for me it's less what Bungie did/Blur didn't do, and more the limitations of TMCC. You can't have a seamless transition from one mission to the next like you could in H2, and it definitely dampens the mood a bit.

Very interesting. Definitely does look like the Blur models with the original blocking.

Yeah, it's a good thing that we can switch in the middle of cut-scenes, though. That was pretty amazing for them to put in for H2A.

This. I have zero issues with MCC. Apart from maybe slow BTB searchtimes but that doesn't bother me too much. But people quit waaaaay too frequent in this game. Almost all my games end because the other team flat out quits, or I quit because nothing remains of the other team so I rather just find a new game than to wait 5-10 minutes in a boring game.

Cross posting this in case people are interested in finishing Spartan Ops on SOLO Legendary in ~30 minutes:

1. Complete the 1st mission on Solo Legendary. Will take some time, but it's worth it.
2. Load the next mission on Legendary and quit the mission as soon as the cutscene starts.
3. Game will award you for completing it on Solo Legendary
4. Do that with every mission in every episode.
5. ???
6. Profit aka Solo Legendary achievement for completing Spartan Ops unlocked.

That way, you don't have to play this boring mode. Oh and do it before the next patch, because it probably won't be possible after the next patch. :p

If it doesn't work after the 1st mission, just complete an other mission and try it again.

You know obviously those aren't finished. Or even intended to be viewed. But I am glad that they went with pre-rendered cutscenes instead. I think that Gravemind one in particular looks rather underwhelming. Also that top lip on the Elites xD

MC looks badass though. Shame we don't see that armour in game for even a second while playing alone.

Edit: Is it me or are the subtitles and some of the other texts in Spartan Ops really small? They aren't this small in H4. Seems like 343i didn't scale the text to the increased resolution... And the text that did scale with the resolution is blurry. Once again fantastic QA on 343i's part!

myself and 3 friends just quit to the dashboard 4 straight times in an effort to join each other

that is how broken this game is TWO MONTHS after launch

and no update since before christmas? pathetic.

I already went through SpOps on Legendary solo for Halo 4. Didn't want to do it again since it's just boring.

game starts 4 on 2, cool 343 thanks.

1 of the 2 leaves, the other guy stays and tries to hide from us (using the banshee to get on top of the tower on ascension repeatedly) until there's 5 seconds left then leaves


there's a special place in hell for people like this

It was finding matches pretty fast some weeks ago. After one of those patches, everything I get is "searching for players..."

I dediced to drop it for a time, and just checked again. "Searching for players..."

I dont wanna know of this game, and any other 343 product anymore. This is the most broken garbage I paid for, ever, game wise.
