Got fried swapping out a projection bulb when I worked in movie theaters as a kid, forgot to ground out the capacitor.
Got thrown like 10 feet and layed there twitching while my brain reset itself, it was quite the experience.
At least the xenon bulb didn't burst in my face.

Yep have been shocked by low to mains voltage (240v here in Aus) due to my technical job. Worst one left a burn on my finger. Still alive. Certainly gets the heart racing.

I did but not too bad. I was climbing a sign ( not mine so it’s extra stupid) and must have hit something as I got a terrible shock and burn on the inside of my knee. My own stupid fault.

I get shocked coming in and out of my car all the time. Little shocks tho. I’ve taken a good shocks to the face from a heavily charged up blanket a few times too.

Yup I’ve worked with my brother who is an electrician when I was younger and I’ve seen that happen to alot if people.

Luckily most of the time circuit breakers do their jobs and they weee not in for long.

Only on one of those low voltage electic fences they use to keep cows in the right part of the field. As kids we would all take turn holding it to get the jolt, it wasn't a permanent circuit just timed pulses.

What are the scenarios when electricity blow you away and get a hold on you?
It will never really blow you away.. it will more likely blow you up and the pressure will throw your lifeless body 20 ft.

Linemen get their heads blown off and huge holes out their bodies if they touch the wrong things at the same time.

I'm an Electrician and its happened a few times. Avoid it if you can, its not pleasant. Got a flash across my left arm and once took the skin clean off on the back of my hand.

Avoid Neutral belts at all costs, you'll definitely know about those.

The last thing you should do it touch someone if the are like that, unless you fancy the same fate. The other guy was super lucky there. Grab something non conductive like a plank of wood or a suitcase in this situation and knock them off.

ACKCCTUALLYYY you aren't electrocuted unless you die. It's a portmanteau of electric + execute. You were shocked, not electrocuted. EDIT: I guess it's since changed to include serious electrical injury. No fun, now I can't be pedantic about this any longer.

But yeah, it's a weird, unpleasant feeling to get shocked. I got a jolt from messing with our smoke detectors once.

Static electricity from the fingers and that’s about it.

I’m not sure what’s more surprising. That you were on the floor with a fried brain and nobody to help you, or that they allowed a 15 year old kid to do such a dangerous job.

I have been shocked. Many times. I wouldn't call it electrocuted though. The older I get the more I worry about arc-flash. I try to use proper ppe.

I have a couple of times since I do everything electrical in my house. Thank fucking God for modern circuit-breakers, they work in milliseconds.

Did few years as an electrical apprentice, got my share of zaps. my first instructor called it a right of passage . Nothing more than 240v.

We did have a guy on our crew who got himself hit with 600v. Complete moron doing something he shouldnt have, was lucky he wasnt killed

I got shocked once changing a broken light switch, wasn't bad at all.

But I don't get why all you electricians genuinely risk your lives dealing with huge amounts of power, just for the cash? I'll never understand it.

I've been shocked a bunch of times by the same lamp. But nothing major or anything.

My parents have this old ass night table lamp which is probably 50 years old and metal. It's copper or bronze I think as it's got that brownish colour.

It's got one of those tiny little switches you turn/click to turn on and off. After doing it enough times, the top part of the lamp becomes loose. And when that happens you get a big shock up your arm when turning the switch. LOL.

What you got to do is unplug it and tighten the housing near the bulb. Then no more shock. It kind of looked like this but older and shittier.

Yep, a crappy step down transformer from 220 to 110 and I got the 220 end of it. Twitched the hell out of my spine and threw me back a little.

You are shock! Not a single Fist of the North Star meme in this entire thread. Tsk tsk 🤔

My sister stuck a key in an electrical outlet when she was a kid. Threw her back. Scared my parents. My mother always warned me about doing it. I’ve always wondered if that’s still a thing or if we are just more prepared in the home.

When i was a kid i pissed on a electric fence, wasn't fun. Felt like somebody cut me through half.

when i was doing my IT education, some cable was broken it seems like but plugged in, so i grabbed it and got a massive shock in my arm for like 2-3 seconds. Felt again like somebody ran over you.

After that nothing anymore.

When I was about 10 or 11, I was at my dad's job one evening waiting for him to finish up. I always had fun walking around the office because it was after hours and I could explore the building and be nosy. Well...right outside his computer room, I saw some power outlets that were in the middle of the damn floor and they were angled upwards like a ramp. Never seen that shit before. Now...I don't know what the fuck possessed me to do this. I really don't. But I grabbed a paperclip from a desk, straightened it, crouched down, and inserted it into one of those power outlets. All I remember was that I saw a spark of purple/blue, heard a loud pop, and something caused my body to be thrown back onto my ass a good several feet. I don't recall my fingers stinging or hurting but I do remember my heart absolutely racing. Sooooo fucking dumb.
