Have you jumped on the foldable phone bandwagon yet?

I got a Samsung z flip 6 and I am enjoying it quite a bit. It's slimmer but longer than my last phone which was an s23+ and like that it can fold to a square, very pocket able. The crease is not noticeable when the phone is on your face, only noticed the crease from afar.

How is it to use the smaller screen with apps? I'd actually like to have a phone in the size of the smaller scren as it'd be crazy pocketable and probably stop me from mindlessly surfing on my phone.

It works pretty well, keep in mind that on stock the available apps are limited, there are ways around that that allow you to put whatever app on the small folded screen.

foldables would only be viable for me if they manage to make one with 2 solid screens with gorilla glass, that have basically no bezel at the hinge part, and just snap into one big screen when you open it. so it looks like 1 big screen but is 2 smaller screens that near seamlessly click together.
even if there's a tiny seam between them that would still be better than the super fragile plastic film screens current foldables have, and better than the little fold bulge that debelops over time when using them.

but that's how MicroLED TVs currently work don't they? just multiple modules with no bezel that click together... surely you can do that on a smaller scale with 2 OLED screens.

Have been using a Motorola Razr 40 for a few months, seems to be fine from a reliability perspective and has a nice tall screen that reminds me of the Xperia 1 IV which I prefer. That said, the outer screen is too small to be useful and its touch is very fiddly to use, I also wish it came with a headphone jack and expandable storage.

Yeah when they come out with a foldable it's going to cannibalize their iPad sales

It won’t at all, we’re talking what will be a flagship device at $2,500 dollars.

An iPad costs $500, iPads are mainly 90% used by older people for larger screens and fonts and children, kids, teens at this point. Totally seperate markets.

They have some of the best engineers in the world, they could do a foldable phone now but they won’t until there’s is 0 noticeable crease, the screen must be identical to that of a regular phone. That’s how they operate and always have, and when they (if) they release one it will be the first in the world with zero compromise on the screen.

I live in Australia foldable Chinese phones are available everywhere here, but the uptake isn’t there. Be handy for flights but typically take my laptop regardless.

Apple doesn't make their own screens If someone manages to make a crease less screen the Chinese will more than likely have it in their phones first.
