nice.
But after getting 48" this year, I hope they will still do 48" c2 because I am not downgrading to 42" most likely
nice.

going from 48 to 42 ?I feel like for those of us who use their CX/1 as a monitor this would actually be an upgrade.
The 48 inch c2 is basically going to be the same tv unless it has a heatsink, which is doubtful for the c series but esp. at that size. G2 will likely have a heatsink but at larger sizes.nice.

I only plan to retire my 42" 2008 sony bravia in the living room... so you know.. my 48" c1 could go there and new oled land on my desk. The 48 inch c2 is basically going to be the same tv unless it has a heatsink, which is doubtful for the c series but esp. at that size. If you still get a 48" c2 I will think you are rich lol.
Do you have enough room for that? I'm impressed.Give me that 42 incher.

Seems strange if Samsung and Sony don't respond to this with something next year as the high end and even some of the mid range sales are going to be destroyed by a 42A1 price, not at launch but like 6 months in like where we are now. Surely it has to be QD-OLED because miniLED just doesn't cut it with the zone counts achieved so far, it looks awesome but it still has the weaknesses OLED does not.
I already see LG taking LCD sales away with its A1 price this year. Like the Samsung 50Q80A and Sony 50X90J because they are so fat, more expensive and have worse PQ, as soon as they see the 48A1 they buy that, and I don't work for LG but I tell them to buy it as I have no offering in that size and its just overall better than the Sony or Samsung. The QN90A at least has the slimmer profile but it still can't compete PQ-wise.
I just read that Samsung will start production of QD-OLEDs at the end of this month, and supposedly they're going to be making a 34" one. Not ultra wide, but still closer to what we want.Ah my dream of LG making one day an 34" Ultra Wide OLED Monitor is coming nearer, my money is ready.
You can use Nvidia control panel (or AMD equivalent) to run a custom resolution of 3440x1440 or 3840x1600 on a 4k tv and you have yourself and ultrawide! I do this on my 65 in 4k tv bc I get better fps at these resolutions than 4k and of course a better aspect ratio/FOV. You just have black bars on the top and bottom of your screen but with an OLED that is not a problem since OLED black screen is as dark as bezel (darker even). I hope I'm the first to tell you this and that you're pumped to hear it! Good luck and have fun!Ah my dream of LG making one day an 34" Ultra Wide OLED Monitor is coming nearer, my money is ready.

Samsung is a brand which I no longer trust. It does seem a bit insane that the "best" monitor on the market today is actually an OLED TV.
32inch 4K monitors all seemingly underperform for the price they're asking for. 27-28 inch 144hz monitors outperform them - and are currently the sweet spot in terms of performance. But nearly all of them are not great at HDR.
The crazy part is the asking price of some of these monitors are not too far off from the price of an LG C1 48. That makes it exceedingly difficult to pull the trigger on a 32 inch monitor that's priced the same as a 48" OLED yet performs significantly worse.
The two MiniLED monitors I know of are exceedingly expensive, and the Samsung is basically a disaster in terms of QC. Both are also significantly more expensive than an LG C1.
YMMV of course, this is all observations from shopping for a monitor recently. Decided my best play is to just wait until the next wave hits so most of the issues on hand can be addressed.
There will be no A2 model for the 42" as A2 doesn't have HDMI 2.1 and is limited to 60hz....
LG is going sell the 42" to gamers so they will make the C2 only at that size: and it's the right choice
I wonder what will LG add into C2 model. I mean it has all the features we need for consoles, is there anything missing?
That's what I was thinking could be one of the improvements.QMS?
Quick Media Switching (QMS)
QMS eliminates bonks by using the VRR mechanism to change frame rates, allowing rapid, smooth changes from a nominal 60Hz rate to any media rate below it (down to 24Hz). HDMI 2.1bwww.hdmi.org
and more perfected VRR support that doesn't have gamma/near black issues.
That's what I was thinking could be one of the improvements.
It's good they are including the 42" in the more higher C series. I don't know of anyone that can compete with LG at that 43"/42" size (unless Sony jumps in the game). Saw the other day Samsung yet again gimped their 43" (QN90A) with a 60hz panel. Screw that company.
I have an axe to grind against Samsung TVs for that reason. That's what I was thinking could be one of the improvements.

42" is still too big for PC... 32" is the absolute maximum... 27" is the perfect spot.I tried the 48" as a PC monitor last time and it was too big. I'm interested in the 42", though, and will give it another shot.
I am using a 40" and it works perfectly well. I use a wireless keyboard and mouse though and I am positioned a few feet away from the TV.42" is still too big for PC... 32" is the absolute maximum... 27" is the perfect spot.
MicroLED /sIn 2026, what will the LG OLEDs be called?
