Hearthstone |OT9| Our raid wiped in Icecrown Citadel

I totally expected a livestream to kick things off for the reveal season.

I guess not since they would have already announced it.

Why are people talking about an Evolve nerf?

7/9 of my last opponents at rank 10 have been minion flood decks. If there's a way to counter that with no-AOE mage I'm not finding it. ;_;
Secret Mage can't handle flood decks in my experience. It's just a bad matchup if they get going, and they pretty much always do.

+1/+1 is simply not worth that downside. It doesn't take a genius to see that the card would need to be carried by another to ever see play in constructed, ie. generated by that 3 drop that generates a deathrattle on death. Even then, it has anti-synergy with n'zoth.
Yeah, ESPECIALLY since it will wipe your N'Zoth board. That means this is a deathrattle card that could only see play in some kind of specialist egg deck (or Dreadsteed? lol).

Even for spell heavy decks I don't think it's really worth it.

I think you would need an egg equivalent that doesn't summon a minion, like a 0/5 that does 5 damage to your opponent's face when they die.

That, or if there's a very popular deck that summons cards for their opponent like that Naxx encounter where you have "can't attack" creatures that do 3 damage to you each turn.

The combo you're looking for is with thr Leper Gnomes! Play N'Zoth on turn ten to summon all your Lepers back, then on your next turn deal a whopping 10 extra damage after removing your own Ticking Abomination!

In seriousness though, outside of an effect like Hungering Ghoul / Backroom Bouncer or Frothing Berzerker, this just seems like another 'overstatted' card at a cost. Maybe there will be synergies, but probably not.

Fuck I hate Shaman decks that just constantly fill the board like a brain dead zombie. Shit like that reminds me why I only play this game to complete quests for gold between expansions. Can't wait for KotFT.

This card feels like the kind of card that they print because they need to balance out discover effects or other random chance abilites that find or create deathrattles.

I hope that's the case, because there are LOTS of great deathrattles, a few mediocre ones, and very few outright bad ones. So if this card being printed means more stuff that will find/create/spawn deathrattles then I'm for it.

It is also a common, so we can't be getting our hopes up for it just yet.

Now this is more like it for a 12 win run. I should probably run a lot more arena while scrub hunt is on...

I know everyone is hating on Iceblock, and rightfully so. I saw the championships and saw games where people should of lost but 4 Iceblocks saved them and allowed them to win which was super frustrating to watch.

Now my thought is to have minions that do damage on the opponents turn.

Example:
Tripper (2 mana, 3/2, target takes 1 point of damage on their turn)

Freeze is general is super shit and frustrating to play against, just lost a game after my opponent kept getting blizzard and frost nova from cabalist tome ( got frozen for 6 turns as priest ).

Yeah, Ice Block is pretty powerful but its kept in check by Eater of secrets.... but then you have several cards that can generate even more Ice Blocks.
I remember losing against Mage that had 4 Ice Blocks thanks to Primordial Gliph and Paveling Book.
There no way to "play around" 4 Ice Blocks! ;)

Attack Ticking Abomination into somwthing.
Play Moat Lurker on your Ticking Abomination.
Ticking Abomination dies, kills Moat Lurker.
Heals to full.

OMG such interaction. Much OP.

no 10AM blog post, I guess that's it for the start of the reveals. lol

you'd think they reveal a bunch of exciting cards to start the train, the initial stream sucked, 3 weeks of nothing now here we are, they're not even announcing some kind of schedule on the website for streamers votes and similar.

So we got got?

Given that we got the announcement video at night, I assumed we'd see new cards at night too.
I hope we get to see them soon.

Yeah, I was expecting at least 1 Hero Card today to start things.

It's still a bit too early West coast time (10:30am) to start pulling out the pitchforks. If we make it through the workday without anything else then I agree this is lame.

Eater of Secrets does not keep Ice Block in check at all, it never has just like with MC it didn't. Sometime a deck has the luxury or necessity to play such a terrible card.

Eater of Secrets is to terrible to play. There is a reason that the pros weren't using the card. One did, and his deck lost against mage, while losing to everything else because this card put his deck at a disadvantage, and made him lose all the mirror matches.

We need cards that counter this that actually have decent value for their cost. 1 Damage on turn affects everyone, not just secret users.

Flare was the only "good" anti secret card. And even then it was barely played. Kezan was more popular until secret Paladin made it pointless.

the best thing about running a non-meta deck is to see glimmeroot misses
The rare occasion when that happens gives me energy.

Like the rare occasion when I embrace darkness and play secret mage and counterspell some 3-5 mana card, and you can just FEEL the mental gears grind to a halt on the other side.

ohh that is such a amazing feeling.. there is always that awkward moment from the opponent where he/she has to make up another plan
