That TV app, all the way to the icon, is a terrible concept.

No one had any trouble opening different apps to watch shows.

We need a better selection of video at a bundled price, Apple, duh.

I don't see why it's bad to obscure the app layer and just make the experience content based and let the Apple TV figure out where to find that content.

This presentation is like years out of touch.

It's showing functionality that has existed for several years, and done better. Using content that was hot 3+ years ago (Game of Thrones...? Brooklyn 99...?), with lame jokes that aren't funny. I'm expecting the presenter to then dab as she walks off screen.

No one cares about TV.

I care even less about live TV or live anything.

I fucking hate when the FaceBook or YouTube apps waste my time notifying me that someone has gone live.

I don't care about live content.

It's 2016. I'll watch it later if I feel like it.

You watching this shit live lol.

Nope. Nada.

"No reason to watch TV anywhere else"

Except for the thousands of programs and movies not available with a subscription.

Haha exactly. Oh well. The only reason I thought about getting an Apple TV is because I leave my PS4 on for my dog to listen (and watch) TV when I'm away from home.

Mac time!

You realize most of the audience is Apple employees, right? Many of whom probably worked on the apps being announced, and are excited to have their work unveiled to the public?

There's always like 30 people in these threads that don't realize this.

Let voice commands die. I'm not doing that shit.

lol.. people are so uncomfortable with change.

voice commands are infinitely better on Apple TV. My wife says the same thing as you. "I'm not going to use voice! It works fine as it is! swipe, swipe, swipe, click, swipe, swipe, swipe, click, swipe, click, swipe swipe swipe, click"

"Hey siri, show me the newest episode of Agents of SHIELD on Hulu." click. done.

What? The dog can't just listen to the radio like a civilized canine?

It's not /bad/ per se, but it's not exciting in the least bit. Should have been an Apple Music esque Apple TV subscription service with bundled content for around $40-$50 a month.

Yeah, and coming from MS conference yesterday, even though it had alot of bum moments and presenters when it got down to business Panos and the Surface stuff absolutely killed it.

This 25 year old laptop has a better keyboard than the new ones they're going to announce, lol.

That will be great for my iPad, but do I have to keep all my other apps? Like HBO GO, etc etc

I imagine that's the only way Apple could pull this off. Content providers probably don't want Apple to entirely own the experience around their content; they want users funneled into their own branded apps.

pretty sure they tried that couldn't get the providers on board and this is their Plan B
