I know USB-C is the future and all, but it seems really stupid that anyone who wants to physically connect their iPhone to their new MacBook Pro is going to need an adapter. They really should have switched the iPhone to USB-C this year.
Each MacBook to come with a USB-C to Lightning adapter.

Believe.

So at least it's multi-touch. But I assume it's not force/3D touch capable? THAT would make for some amazing stuff.

And does or can it have haptic feedback at least as an option at least for the F-key part?

it's kind of an awkward situation because they could include a USB-C to Lightning cable with the iPhone but then the vast majority of regular USB users would be fucked. Probably cost prohibitive to include both

Until today only one product in their entire line had USB-C, and it was a niche ultraportable designed for people who don't really plug in any devices. It's not going to change quickly, especially since the vast majority of iPhone users never actually connect their phones to anything other than power.

Then again for all we know in 2017 before the iPhone 8 comes out everything's gone USB-C and they say "get an adapter" to the people who buy the next phone.

Why are all the ports gone? This i do not get.

I like apple products but they screw customers over.

Stop taking away ports.

They even removed the apple light in the back.

It's not really 'an entirely new experience' though, is it? Constantly using hyperbole when not deserved just devalues it when it is justified.

It's a new MacBook Pro that's thinner and lighter and has skylake chips in. That's enough for most people. The touch bar is a cute gimmick but way OTT on the presentation. It's like those overlay strips you used to get and line up over your function keys for specific apps - but all fancy like.

You still have to buy a new cable for your devices. People are just choosing to call them dongles because it's easier

"people are just calling them the completely wrong thing because it's easier"?

wut?

yes, you will have to spend $5-9 per device to upgrade to the newest USB standard.

let me repeat that to you.. you will need to spend $5-9 per device. You're not required to replace your device in the vast majority of cases (unusual for going to a new tech). Your devices aren't instantly obsoleted (unsual for going to a new tech). Literally about the least frustrating way to move to a new version of tech possible, and people are still bitching.

I get people will bitch "because apple".. but USB-C is vastly superior to USB-A, and to upgrade to the new connector your total cost is a new cable, with almost every existing device continuing to work fine (wired mouse and keyboards being the main exception)

$50/hour, but no kissing on the lips and colors must be pre-separated
I kinda just watch these for the Jony Ive bits at this point. That man makes tech sexy.

Hell yes. That's certainly enough for me.
I don't know what people expect from these Apple events. You know what you're getting into when watching one.
