Help me pick a new MP3 player

So I've had an iRiver H120, which was fantastic. I also have black 30GB 1st gen Zune which I really like, but unfortunatly it seems like there is a serious issue as mine keeps resetting constantly when I try to sync. This resetting issue seems to be a widespread problem with all Zunes from what I can gather, something to do with static electricity.

Anyway because of that I'm staying away from anything Zune related for a while as I'm sour from my bad experience and don't want more faulty products. I don't really like ipods that much so I'm trying to spread out into something else.

Anyway, looking for something with good audio quality, lots of audio options, lots of codecs and some cool features. I don't care about video or pictures at all, just music.

I'd prefer a HDD based player, but they seem to be almost non-existant these days. Not a big fan of Flash based players as they don't have enough storage but I don't have much choice. So I've short listed these players and I'd like everyone's opinions on them. Or if anyone has any better alternatives I'd be happy to hear them also. Not interested in anything smaller than 8GB.

For a flash player with best storage solution currently is Cowon D2, fairly cheap, among the best shound with SD support. Just get a 16/32 gig SD card.

FYI, its a touch screen player.

Works on any computer, since it requires no sync software.

I can't help you that much, but I can say that some of your things are wrong here.

it can play OGG files at least (although, the tags might be a bit messed up.)

I also think it has a mic (it can record things, so it HAS to have a mic, right?)

Bluetooth headphones don't work over FM, btw.

NVM this comment. I think I'm wrong. I guess it only records from FM :lol :lol

I better test at the OGG playback, too :lol

Zune.

edit: I have never heard of that issue you mention. Also you should be under warranty if so. Call MS.

No, you're correct. I have it. They added the recording feature in the last firmware update. I use it to record lectures for college now:lol

You can also link it up to your cell phone through the Bluetooth and take/make calls through the MP3 player. I love this player, but yeah, the 8GB is a killer. Wish they come out with a bigger size.

This. A 32GB SD card and an 8GB player gives you space comparable to a HD player but without the moving parts. Best of both worlds.

Only reasons I don't own one already are:

- I'm waiting to see what the new Cowon players are like.
- I might just go the whole hog and get a Sony Ericsson c905 mobile phone, making MP3 player and digital camera concerns irrelevant.

Oh yea, I see it now. It's in the prime pack. :lol :lol

I'm pretty sure they just came out with a 16GB one. Either that, or it's coming out fairly soon. I remember something on engadget about it.

EDIT: I can't really use it with phone since my headphones are bluetooth and it can't rend the audio to the headphone :(
