Heroes of Newerth Beta PC (dota clone)

I hate the fact that Dota had to go back to 6.59d so I'm ready to try this HoN. Are beta keys still available?
I can be an ass playing Dota lol. The way I sometimes see it, the game has been out for awhile. There are guides out there and you can practice against cpu before taking on live people. I can forgive and advise nubs if they are willing to take the advice and follow, but you have a lot of players who will do there own thing and do stupid shit.
The most annoying players are those who think they are useless until late game, so they just creep all day. This Naix yesterday had plenty of opportunity to cut off and get kills but he kept crying "He had to farm til late game." He literally didn't do anything else besides farming until he reached lvl 19. By then, we had already rax their base without his help. -_-
Another example relates to above. We are team pushing and could've rax some buildings, yet there's one or two members who decides to creep nearby. I would scream "push plz!" and their excuse is they need more gold. Idiots, you get more gold taking out their buildings! By then, enemy hero's would respawn and defend. -_-

My favorite hero switches around. I guess right now its Lich but I normally go Sylla, Rhasta, or Lion.

It can be worst than the situation you described. Yesterday in HoN, a newbie player went 0/14/0. So I told him to go into the jungle and farm, hoping he will stay in the jungle forever. Luckily he listened and he never came back out of the jungle. The game eventually ended and he never died again.

My favorite hero is probably omniknight because he's such a great tank/support but also a killer because of his slow aura in combination with some good items like radiance and s&y.
. Never could get you bastards to play that!My new favorite right now is the Torturer. The guy can be a complete beast and is great at taking out stealthers and melee types.
I totally forget the names of his abilities, but the general strategy is to get a good amount of +movement (try to save up for Phase Boots) and a good sized health and mana pool (you should be good getting a couple of beast hearts / pickled brains on your way to creating the Magi Staff). When you find a suitable target, stun (1st skill), close distance and then just stick close to your opponent while activating your PBAoE swords (2nd skill) and your Ultimate. Most of the time, your opponent will try and stay and fight, which is fine since all the while your abilities are eating away at him. Even if he stuns you, your abilities will still be going. By the time he tries to run it's already too late, and if he does manage to somehow build distance, finish him off with your 3rd skill (it has pretty good range). This works pretty good too in large battles. Even if you die, you should have done enough damage to your opponents for your teammates to finish them off easily.

Just started playing this last night, it's great! If you like DOTA, I do not know why you would want to play it on wc3 more than this. It is all very unfamiliar to me now because I can't tell which hero/item is supposed to be what by looking at it (and all the spells are of course different looking) but I'm sure once I figure it out it will be worth it.
The thing to be most excited about here are the replay and community features S2 will bring to Heroes of Newerth. Like Savage 2, all of your games replays will be archived online and be viewable any time. You'll be able to look up any game and watch their replays. It will track all sorts of stats.
Savage 2 is friggin' fantastic in this regard.

My favorite hero in Dota is probably Dwarven Sniper. Love taking people out on a distance.
