Yeah but that's exactly what GFE picked her on Towers for. Tempo had Zeratul and Greyman, AAs are a huge amount of their damage output and Fan made some decent plays. The Uther pick sucked.

She's bad vs zera and greymane though. Sure they have good aa damage but neither of those heroes are really AA heroes and they both out range and out play a cassia.

Like even though greymane autos a lot, that's still not what's scary about him if you're a ranged assassin.

Scoobs who do you like?

Thats not a jab, its a legit question lol.

My favorite heroes that I consider really strong right now would probably be:

Support: Auriel, Lili, Malf, Uther
Assassin: Greymane, Ragnaros, Jaina, Falstad, Lunara, Alarak, Gul'Dank
Specialist: Nazeebo, Sylvanas, Xul
Bruiser: Artanis, Sonya, Leoric, Dehaka, Zarya (idk if she's a bruiser but I'll list her here, she's OP)
Tank: Arthas, Anubarak, Muradin, Varian

There are a lot of other viable heroes I didn't list here (like Lucio) that I don't enjoy playing so these are just the ones I personally enjoy.

You're especially worried about his autos as a ranged assassin.

Checked on hotslogs and Zeratul is one of her best matchups in higher leagues and greymane a positive one.

Oh Xul? I actually started liking him more when I specced him more for TFs as I found I could still push a lane if needed but it was much better for confrontations.

I havent played him much tho he's only 5.

I'm usually all-in on the trait talents, they're just so strong and accentuates his strength as an insane pusher. His E and Skeletal Mages are enough for team fights IMO.

I used to be big on Gaz back when I played 2 years ago, I havent tried him again since returning (hes lvl 11), he was like top 3 for me at one time. I like my weird heroes. And pets.

edit: Kael vs Valeera / Zeratul. So that sure was fun :/

Bstep is so bad

They go from a 3 warrior comp to a 0 assassin comp.

Who drafts for them? How are they so bad?

They don't deserve to win

The sudden realization that I've played so few games as malf with a zeratul that it never occurred to me to root the floor before it timed out. I've seen so many HGC games do that but live in a game it took a night of sleep. #feelsbadman

Kael is horrible in QM since there is always a Valeera and/or a Zeratul. I imagine Chromie will be the same, at least she has Bye Bye. Kael's tornado thing isnt nearly enough escape if you get ganked :/

edit: starting to think that the fireball ult is better for QM tbh, phoenix usually just scares ppl away, at least the fireball can delete someone because in QM you wont really help intercept it and shit.

You know Quick Match is a cruel mistress when you have a 10.7 KDA and average 1.6 deaths per game on a hero, including more than 7 kbs per game...but you have a 45% winrate.

that hero is Genji

Scaring them away is sort of the point, though, that's it's value. You either zone them away from the fort/keep/objective, or they eat a bunch of damage. There are so many ways to negate Pyroblast (and the windup still sucks) that I wouldn't personally recommend it.

These last 2 days with Kael have been horrible, its rogue-hell out there at least in EU. I just want to move on to someone else but now I might aswell get 10 for the 2 boxes and 500g.

Q build Gul'Dan is pretty boring but undeniably good. I'm an E build man myself, I find that quest so much more rewarding to complete.

When its a bad Kael game, its feels really bad, but when you have a good one and you can do your shit, its great. Much more so than most heroes, would that be a fair assessment? Thats my take from getting to 9 and half (for now, gonna call it here an this good game after a bunch of shitty ones, I need to do some work anyway).

I did go back to phoenix tho because pyro was doing nothing for me. That wind up is a killer.

Pyro wind up is a joke compare to what it used to be and the range is fucking ridiculous now. Do I think the cd is too long? For sure. Phoenix is still the go-to.

And my Kael adventures end (as in I got him to 10) not with a bang but with a whimper, which pretty much summons up my experience with him.

Had a infernal shrine game where we absolutely crushed it 2/3 of the game, they are all but out, we have everyone alive after a team fight, top shrine is up, me and Diablo go to the shrine, other 3 stay in the enemy base being heros, I ask them to come and fight at the shrine where we all are and we can also get the punisher but no, they decide to fight the ressers there, get wiped out, me and diablo try to finish the shrine mobs but we cant and we get taken out, enemy gets the Punisher.

So I go "ok that was dumb but it happened. Forget that first fort, thats already gone and lets defend in our base when we are all alive". But no, the 3 ressers rush that first fort, they all die again, and the enmy proceeds to kill everything including the core. I dont even man...

So in the end I still don't particularly like Kael, and its another Mage I dont care for. So far its only really Li Ming for me (unless you want to count Zeebo and/or Azmo), guess I need to give Jaina a whirl soon to finish off the mages.

I do feel like I can approach him better now, which is a good thing about this whole process with heroes even if I dont like them.

I started playing again after a year. Got like 30 loot boxes because I had already spent money on the game I guess? Didn't get any characters out of them though. :/

Don't know how anybody can only be meh on KT. Dude throws FIREBALLS at you!

Plus there is nothing like landing an E-Q-R-W on a target and watching them spontaneously combust.

You should still be able to get 20 heroes for free with the bundles if you haven't already.

I thought I would hate Hanamura, but I'm actually really starting to dig it. Most of my games have been really close on it - usually within one core point. I actually had one that came down to our boss fight versus their payload push - they were probably less than a second from finishing their winning payload when we capped the boss.

Tass is pretty fun. He is super hit or miss though.

Also, I love those moments in the draft when you look at your comp, the enemy comp, and a particular pick just seems perfect.

In my last game, our team had Anub'Arak, Genji, Li Li, and Kael'Thas, so I was looking for a bruiser, and I was last pick.

The enemy team had The Butcher, Varian, Rehgar, Jaina, and Alarak.

I thought about Ragnaros, Thrall, and almost took Sonya, and then I realized, if I took Artanis, everyone on that team except for Varian would be a great target to swap with. And it worked perfectly - so much target isolation. Maybe it wasn't even the optimal pick, but it felt right, and worked great, and I really enjoy moments like that.

Played Abathur a few times in AI games and he's not really that complicated. I'm not sure what I was expecting. It is definitely a different mindset and you have to have courage to soak exposed lanes, but otherwise it's just throwing your hat on something, using all the abilities, then cancelling out to put up nests. Much more accessible than I thought. I imagine being truly effective with him is a challenge though.

I was super impressed with the archon upgrade talent at 20. BEHOLD MY NEW (almost) PERMANENT FORM.

Abathur has a ridiculously high skill cap. The basic stuff is fairly simple, but what a great player can do with him is mind boggling (taking mercy camps always freaks me out!). Skilful placement of mines to provide massive map wide vision alone is a lot.

Something I've been thinking about as HGC rolls along: What would you estimate for the over/under on more sponsors entering the scene and sponsoring teams before the end of the year that aren't direct replacements for other sponsors (ie: Misfits replaced by Liquid, thereby keeping the number of sponsored teams the same)?

I'd put it at 1 1/2 and I'd take the under, betting we'll see one or less.

Kio and I were talking about it and we agreed that Team8 might, might get a sponsor if they manage to end up top 2 again. But who else NA or EU wise? It seems like despite the stability and the fairly regular schedule the sponsor interest is pretty much nonexistent...or if there is interest, whatever they are requiring of the teams isn't worth it versus the money they are already making without sponsors.

Thoughts?

If you guys haven't checked reddit and seen this team fight at the boss on Hanamura, you gotta watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WsfplvaIio&feature=youtu.be

Much laughter. Such carnage.

Prob wont see much involvement until the next roster shake-up, i think nvidia is sponsering a bootcamp for bstep?

Yeah, but they've done that before for C9. That's not the kind of sponsoring I'm talking about. They aren't gonna put their name on a team, for example. I mean actually taking the team.

EU already got like 3 new sponsors I expect more for one of them to jump ship.

3? Who? And not musical chairs sponsors like Misfits --> Liquid. I mean 3 teams that did not have a sponsor this season that picked one up and therefore added to the number of teams we have sponsored.

I wish I hadn't forgotten to save the replay of my glorious Abathur tribute ninja where I teleported to my dead Leoric friend on top of it, while everyone was fighting elsewhere. Made it out alive too.

Finally got enough shards for Alteisen Red Mecha Tassadar. Hadn't played him in...a real long time. Feels like he got changed a lot, but it is so long since I last used him I couldn't tell you the specifics. Oh well, I look cool and that's what is important.

I've gotten almost every support to 5 now, I think I'm only missing Morales because I hate playing her. I disliked Auriel at first but after getting in a groove with her I was MVP almost every single match. I like damaging/more active supports, not just in this game but others as well (Zenyatta for example). But Auriel puts out enough healing to keep my team alive, and I get some mileage out of her blind talent too. Li Li does that job better, sure, but she looks horrible and is boring to play.

Looking a bit closer on the EU side of things, all teams seems to have been picked by an e-sports org. They just aren't "household" name per se like a C9 TSM or DIG but still, on the EU side, I think it's sorted out. NA is on a little more shaky ground (just like the level of play oohhhh) but at least they have a baseline contract to rely on.

I'd assume we'll see more sponsor involvement if there's a big splash at the midseason brawl. 2.0 did give the game some more momentum so if the ratings continue to climb like it did the past few weeks maybe some money will flow a bit more. There's still no news from Misfits but I'd wager there are busy with the OWL. Once it's finally started maybe they will look into picking up an NA team.

Mene posted his Kael'thas guide just in time for Rhaknar to fell off the bandwagon.

Experts, Playing Ducks, BeGenius and Tricked. 4 even, Synergy is the only unsponsored team.

Ah, I didn't even realize Expert and Playing Ducks were real names. LOL. Talk about some shite names/Naventic style orgs I've never heard of. That's pretty good EU wise then.

Regardless, the question remains. Do you see more than 1 sponsor entering the scene before Blizzcon for what's left of NA/EU?

Alur

What did we have last Blizzcon, Denial and Astral?

No, Astral was already a team. They just swapped rosters.

Alur

Tempo wasn't a sponsor for last Blizzcon IIRC. And wasn't the Ballistix sponsorship only for like 2-3 months? They weren't even set up to do it I think. There was an article about it, they just kind of did them a solid for Blizzcon.

Yeah that was the short lived Korean experiment. I had forgotten that existed as well. RIP Tempest that was.
