I've been reading up on the evils of aspartame, and found out that the FDA has been trying to kill off any sales of a natural non-caloric sweetener called Stevia (mostly due to complaints from Monsanto). Apparently Stevia has been deemed extremely safe in Japan, and is used in something like 40% of sugar-free products. So my question is, how does it compare taste-wise to apspartame or Splenda?

Stevia rules. Tastes exactly like sugar. I don't eat sugar anymore, or eat any products with added sugar, so its a godsend.

Its not too expensive either. About $7 for 50 packets.

The FDA blows.

it's so good that sometimes i sprinkle it on my eyeballs so that my body will absorb it as quickly as possible

i used stevia to make some weird "atkins" chocolate ice cream cake and it was teh bomba

I started using it 3 months ago and it rocks. Just make sure that you get the liquid form, the powder form is a little hard to dissolve.
