I think Obama might actually have a chance, despite the race card ... lets face it, a Democrat is not going to win in the South anyway. But in swing states like Florida and Ohio, it might work for him.

The smear campaign against him (hello Faux News) would be intense though.

Good read in yesterday's NYT about the fund-raising situation in the Democratic party.

“The Clintons value loyalty, and I don’t think they are going to risk offending her,” Mr. Kerrey said of Mrs. Clinton’s traditional supporters, noting that he spoke to several undecided Democrats last week. Referring to Mr. Obama, he added: “He’s got to reach out to Hillary’s supporters and hope he can persuade some of them. If he doesn’t, she’s the nominee.”

Because that's really a big concern in the world right now. Christ.

I just got back from a bunch of traveling, but I'm glad to see the Democratic line-up shaping up the way it is -- there are some strong candidates in there, and it's almost a shame only one is going to end up being the official nominee. Between Richardson, Obama, and Clinton, the Democratic party seems to have a well-rounded set of strong candidates running. I can only hope Hagel turns the rumors on its head and runs on the Republican side of things, so we can have some actual advancement in debate and topics because I'm rather revolted by Brownback, McCain, and Romney's twisting and turning of late.
