Yup. My 14 year old daughter that only play Nintendo stuff, Stardew Valley, Roblox and Fortnite is begging me for this game. Sadly I told her we have to wait for it to go on game pass. Too many real life shit has happened lately and can’t afford this one right now.

The discussion is all about 'enlightening' this person, with other posters asking if this friend is "really willing to change their mind'. The first question you should be asking in a situation like that is 'am I willing to change my mind?', because if you're not willing to concede that you might be wrong, why should somebody else show willing? You see a lot of this in activist circles, this idea that 'discourse has failed' when there was never a really a conversation to be had, just an attempt at coercion or conversion from one side and resistance from another.

Turned out better than expected, might get this day 1.
I read the review and it didn't feel incongruent with the score at all. Definitely a justified score even caveated with the tech performance (which sounds like expected hiccups here and there) and enemy variety (this one does concern me but something tells me there's sub-enemy variety).
Some of the conspiracy theories were (and still are) absolutely batshit insane. I'm sure they're in the wings rationalizing in some way how this unqualified positive reception is actually PROOF of the industries collusion. . .or something.
Nah. I didn't consider your post to be that. I responded as I did because some of you are just LOOKING for a reason to hang on to the "game journos are against this game!" narrative - especially over a reasonable take.
. . .and I thought I was pretty clear in my comment: the constant fascination folks have with OTHER forums is a detriment to this one.
