Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores Pulled From Russian PlayStation Store

Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores DLC has been taken off from PlayStation Store in Russia. The preorders for the game are no longer open. As discovered by the Russian video game website DTF, the transactions are no longer going through, and those who had already paid for the pre-order have been refunded. The decision to remove Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores from the store in Russia came at a time when the fans of the series were bracing themselves for the release of the expansion in a few days.

It has surprised everyone as neither Sony nor the developers made any official announcement regarding the decision. And nobody is sure whether it was Sony who decided to remove the expansion from the Russian store. However, it is heavily insinuated that Sony made the decision. As it ultimately owns both the publisher and developer of Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores.

Moreover, the main game, Horizon Forbidden West and Horizon Call of the Mountain PSVR2 are still available on the Russian version of the PlayStation Store, which raises more questions about the nature of this decision. Russian fans were also left disappointed by this step. More so because the DLC is merely two days away from release, and they had been eagerly waiting for it.

But, as is typical with the Russian gaming community, they have already found ways around this restriction. As later found by the ever-adapting Russian gamers, this restriction can be bypassed by buying the game on Turkish PlayStation Store. The same is possible if you buy the game in any European version of the PlayStation Store. As all the add-ons bought, there work with the game purchased in Russia.

Personally I'd have the Russian consoles main page show pictures of all the atrocities the Russians are committing in Ukraine, hell id make all games, servers, software etc that is active in Russia default to the same stuff, maybe wake a few of those morons up

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Is the base game still being sold on Russian PSN or was that also taken down ?

not trying to start anything but Sony is a jerk about giving refunds on preorders but seem to have no issue about doing it like this. Not political at all, just a comment on how one sided their preorder policy is.

Sorry for the late reply, but since nobody pushed back on this i'll gonna have to do it:

Can you imagine how bad the American version of any console game store would be if they had to put any atrocity committed by the US lately? For how bad the Russian invasion is, the atrocities committed are nothing compared to what the Americans did in Iraq.

yeah yeah blah blah blah we know that stick. USA is so bad.
Everything happens for a reason and USA went on the crusade because of 911 for example as one of the reasons.

I can't believe every day I see these comments putting terror states like russia in the same ballpark as USA. There is some difference you know ?

Your first comment since 2019, and you spend it on whataboutism?

American foreign policy over the past century would honestly make the Kremlin blush. The global response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine is justified and reasonable - we should stand against it. What's galling is that other countries - particularly America, and its allies - get a free pass. It's okay to point out that hypocrisy.

He is applauding Russia for being anti LGBT....
No he was agreeing with their stance on not pushing it down everyone's throats(or at least that's his perception, I don't really know because I don't pay attention to Russian culture). That's different from hating those people and very different from being anti LGBT.

Are you thick?

Russia’s stance is to essentially go around beating LGBT individuals up and turning a blind eye to it.

Why am I having to explain this to you?
