Death Stranding 2 has already fallen under Forza Horizon 5 on the PlayStation Store (US, UK, France, and Germany).

Failed to enter top 20 YTD chart after during its launch month(13 days worth of data).

It's ahead of Forza in the monthly charts.
You seem to care deeply about it's success.

It would have been an extreme disaster if DS2 failed to outsell FH5 in its launch month vs FH5's 3rd month.

What were you expecting?

Beat Forza on PS.

The entire argument that "Forza is outselling DS2 on PS" has already fallen apart.

This is June data. The thread was made in July, after the launch week(s) flurry for DS.

Forza's outsold it YTD, and may well be outselling it right now.

Lmao @ 'fallen apart'

Did you miss what this thread is about?

It seems DS2 is struggling to maintain its momentum in the PlayStation ecosystem despite being released recently on the market, and it is currently trailing behind an older game like FH5.
Here.

I don't follow the fallen apart bit
This thread was based on the premise that FH5 is selling more than DS2 (right now) based on rankings on a few PSN regions.

It was a stupid argument to begin with as FH5 is only digital while DS2 is digital + physical. And FH5 was having a PSN sale.

Now, Circana numbers show that in the month of June (despite releasing near the end of the month), DS2 outsold FH5 on PlayStation. Hence, the "fallen apart."

It's not.

DS2 is on #2.

FH5 is on #6.

I don't understand your obsession with this, by the way.
I thought we were talking year to date

It seems you're very confused.

Circana June numbers for DS2 is a combination of 2 weeks (Launch week + second week), it's very obvious the cumulative numbers for DS2 is going to be higher than FH5 when factoring launch week where most its sales concentrated in period.

The entire talking point of this thread is about 2nd week drop for DS2 on Playstation store where DS2 is falling behind FH5.

So we are using arbitrary time periods to fit our weird narrative?

Got it.

Now we are suddenly comparing YTD?

Forza is a multiplatform game. Of course it will sell more than a single-platform exclusive on a YTD chart -- especially because it has already been on the market for the entire year for Xbox/PC and multiple months now on PS5.

How on earth did you expect to see DS2 (releasing at the end of June) outselling a multiplatform game available since Jan 01 on a YTD chart?

I thought YTD was the whole deal as well, my bad

No worries. I know you don't do stupid lol.

Some of these guys were looking at an arbitrary one week period of PSN listings and making threads and constant arguments based on that.

Imagine.
I gotcha

I totally expect Forza to outsell DS2 even by years end simply because it has a much wider appeal so comparisons really mean nothing between these two games

The thread you're mocking isn't referring to YTD. It's focused on recent data in July.

You're the one scoffing at that thread using June data.

What is position of both games in charts right now?

Thats what this thread is about.

Precisely

Humiliating to read lots of posts on Resetera about ''It also has a PC port in the future to increase sales'', Playstation used to be the drivers to get these kinds of single player sales to sell incredibly well, now already becoming dependant on Steam instead. While the PS audience is busy playing EA sports games.

Nah.

That's the billion dollar question

Most do not buy hardware for their exclusives, they play COD, Fortnite and the yearly sports games so begs the question would Sony start making more money releasing these tentpole games on all platforms day one, even just PC day one?

These are US charts. The audience is on Fortnite, Roblox, NBA and COD.

Not necessarily a bad outcome for console owners, since they still make the 30% cuts off In game purchases. Bad for many devs of single player games.

Reading your terrible posts is far more humiliating.

This thread purpose is console warring. Why target ds2 and compare with other game ? Very weird .
100%. DS2 is physical + digital. Forza 5 is all-digital, yet they're comparing the digital-only sales of an arbitrary 2-week period.

Not to mention that Forza is on a discount on PSN, while DS2 is not.

And now since the June 2025 charts showed that DS2 is ranking on #2 and FH5 is on #6, the narrative shifted to "oh, we were talking about YTD figures." lol

So now they want to also take into account all those months where DS2 didn't even launch. lol

I thought June is the latest data we have.

Do you have up-to-date July data as well? Please share.

That's just as diabolical as you comparing launch month sales of DS2 to the third month of sales of FG5, in a thread talking about July sales data

See, so you actually know how to make sensible rebuttals.

I dont even get why people here are salty about this. Of course Horizon should and will outsell DS2 by a large margin. Its an arcade racer which is so mainstream and PS didnt have any worthwhile talking about till now. DS2 is a specific game but it aint some revolution, its more of the same with DS1. Its never going to outsell an arcade racer and who cares. Last time I checked when DS1 came out, sony wasnt too happy with initial sales. How can you even compare it to a juggernaut like Forza Horizon. Actually im pretty sure Astrobot beats DS2 in lifetime sales over and over. DS2 aint nothing special, its a niche game and you expecting its gonna make FIFA numbers.

You can have current data then, right? Please share.

Share the actual numbers for July (since June data is obviously outdated according to you).
