i think the performance issues will take longer to fix, now they are fixing the crashes.I just tested it. Still runs like shit on 2080Ti.
I wonder if they will even address the performance. Weirdly enough have 8 hours on Steam counter and 0 crashes.i think the performance issues will take longer to fix, now they are fixing the crashes.
Why are you saying this, it is their first release on pc. Developers with years of experience in developing pc games will still ship unoptimized bug riddled games. This dev is so incompetent, they only fix crashes.
GG isn't responsible for the port. It's been outsourced. Why are you saying this, it is their first release on pc. Developers with years of experience in developing pc games will still ship unoptimized bug riddled games.
Maybe they should have spent more time and care on the port i can agree with that.
You and me both. 40 hours in and not a single crash. Solid performance all-around aside from the odd occasion where fps tanks and I have to reboot the game which happened twice thus far.I wonder if they will even address the performance. Weirdly enough have 8 hours on Steam counter and 0 crashes.
This dev is so incompetent, they only fix crashes.
Wtf. Are you even around Halo's subreddit or you just talking shit? The Port was outsourced to a group with very little experience with DECIMA. Guerrilla Games themselves seem to be taking the reins in fixing a lot of the bugs or at least are relaying what they see in their debug of their engine to the studio who ported the game. I mean the game has had major issues and they seem to be quick to get them fixed.
BTW how long did it take 343 to fix MCC? And didnt they re-release it and still have unsolved issues on pc?
People need to to the interaction on that reddit. They are doing an amazing job at talking/interacting with people. There is even some trouble shooting going on by the Guerrilla devs. They say they know about the snow issues, and are looking into that next. The crash report update also gives them info on whats going on system wise and performance wise.
So everyone who has a problem should report it. Each report gives them info on system setups and how the game is reacting.
Seriously GG is in another league than 343 when it comes to community.
Wtf. Are you even around Halo's subreddit or you just talking shit?
Because 343 has the one of the most extensive blog posts around "why things are working in the way they are working" and "what are we doing to fix it"
Also. Why do you need to drag 343 here, when the main topic is GG and their bad Horizon port? Just to say "hehehe, they are bad too?"
Also. Comparing one game to the port of 5 games, each running on different tech and menu that is running on entirely different engine is not the same![]()
what the hell?I THINK my point was how quickly they are fixing and trouble shooting. 343 literally re-released MCC with tons of extra workd, flights/beta to get feedback and their releases still have issues. Them being on different code because they are old games, is irrelevant. If it was such an issue then remaking them in another engine or halo 5's should have been the way to go a long time ago.
GG will get this game close to perfect I 100% believe that.
DECIMA is not a shit engine like what 343 is using.
Slipstream is the reason halo was delayed. Not covid.
what the hell?![]()
So now we are comparing 343's work on Halo MCC, throwing Slipspace engine to the mix (which doesn't have any correlation with MCC) just to prove...what?
Jesus. Just stop being fanboy. GG made a bad port. They released a product in a bad state and charged money for it. And they got slammed because of it. That's how things works. You don't need to defend them, unless you are paid to do it. If that's true, then carry on. If not, then it is just sad.
Once they get the performance sorted, I'm in. I really enjoyed my playthrough on PS4 when it came out but its still unacceptable on PC it its current state.
(So, It may surprise you that main dev for MCC wasn't 343They did not make the port? A third party did, and it looks like out of their work on Horizon 2 they are having their engineering team take the reins on fixing this directly.
You can call me a fanboy or whatever, but the point still stand that they are fixing major issues within a week or so of the games release. I see people shitting on them, and I'm like you know at least they are able to fix their product in a timely manner.
343 literally went years without fixing MCC.
Context is everything.
There are a lot of games from big publishers I could bring up, Bethesda, WB with Rocksteady. Arkham knight will never be what the console version was, and Dishonored 2 still has major issues and it's 3 years old.
Call me what you want just because out of a ton of games that come to PC and dont get fixed I happen to choose 343.
It was what was in my mind at the time.
I wonder if they will even address the performance. Weirdly enough have 8 hours on Steam counter and 0 crashes.
(So, It may surprise you that main dev for MCC wasn't 343![]()
. So, another "argument" goes away)
I'm not defending 343. They way they handle Halo MCC was atrocious. But using is as an excuse for GG's shitty port of Horizon? Nope. Using and argument "Bethesda has D2 broken for 3 years" isn't an argument either. They released broken port and charged money for it. They are as bad as other, who produce bad ports. End of story. No defence.
Since Sony and ms fans are here, might as well compare TLoU to flightsim, whilst we're at it

I'm done with the game!
...finished it. Was pretty great. Fuck those Fireclaws.

Plat this on the ps4 a couple of years ago and also bought the steam version, played about 2 hours and stopped because my fps is all over the place especially when I'm inside a village. I'll probably wait till they give this game a huge performance patch.
Who's betting that Sony will announce a free PS5 upgrade with a game running at a rock solid 60fps in 4K?
i7 7700k, 1070, 16gb ram. Even on low settings my fps is so unstable. I heard this game also eats a lot of ram and has huge memory leaks thus probably one of the reasons why it crashes or even causing bsod on some people. What are you running for a RIG?
This dev is so incompetent, they only fix crashes.
What was your rig?
I'm trying to see how it runs on AMD cards. Most people in this thread seem to have NVIDIA.
ANyone with a 5700/XT or Radeon VII?
Nvidia RTX 2070 super, I'm afraid. I just played on 1080p ultra.
What were you getting for frames?
I run a Radeon vII at 1440p.
Nvidia RTX 2070 super, I'm afraid. I just played on 1080p ultra.
But my main claim was fixing said port? Which GG is currently doing at a very steady clip. And to your point wouldn't have 343 taken the reins back from the dev that ported MCC? Similar to what GG is doing. They are fixing the port studio's mess since it is their engine and their product.
They are taking owner ship.
My examples that you seem incapable of making a connection without putting a dumb emoji up, all are titles that were ported over, then left as is without being fixed for long periods of time. GG is literally going and putting out fires, at a insane clip on a port that should have been fairly easy to put on PC as seen with Decmia engine running well in Death Stranding.
If all you get is me fanboying then you have no stool to stand on, I literally gave examples.
It's one thing if this was 3 months from now and the game had no patches, logs or communication. But literally it's getting fixed, and they already set out 2 patches in a week to fix tons of issues.
We are talking about a port of Playstation game? I'm talking about the developer who is patching the game? We can't talk about other titles that came to PC with issues?
Figures, typical poster's.
So I have Radeon VII and a Ryzen CPU and I can't talk about a game I own on Playstation and will own on PC as soon as it's fixed? Hence me being in this thread. I'm looking at what the state of the game is.
Ah but then you get the 0 FPS bug.I fixed all those issues by not buying it.
60fps all day every day, even in giant battles. On 1440p ultra/high drops me to 40 fps in giant battles and crowded cities.
These patches worry me because I've been at 4K 60 FPS without any crashes or frame-time issues. The game has been super smooth.
I have a Ryzen 5 3600, 16g ram and a rx470.What was your rig?

If I want to do some reading, I'll read a book. I wanted to play a game and it's broken for almost 2 weeks now.I can see no one here actually read the post by Guerilla regarding performance. They said they added diagnostics in patch 1.01 and more in 1.02 to pin down exactly why the game is underperforming so they can address it on a later patch.
