Welcome to the screenshot thread for Horizon, Guerrilla was kind enough to include an awesomely extensive photo mode in their far-future robo-dino-hunting open world game, complete with filters, the ability to hide Aloy for gorgeous environment shots, and even a slider to change the time of day.

So read the rules, share some awesome screenshots, and have fun

For high quality 4k .png screenshots, you can use Gifyu. Once uploaded, go down the page, switch to embed code, and copy the image URL

Can we handle this like in the console screenshot thread maybe, that full 4K pics are allowed but 1080p pics are especially recommended?
If many post their huge uncompressed 4K pics, many might run into trouble loading a page soon.
To be honest, full 4K screens don't look that nice anyway. Downsampled to 1080p looks much better.

That one is just the easiest, i think deviantart is also an option but has extra steps. Not many sites allow high mb pictures. They're rare.

There's a whole deep jungle area. So yeah. Lots of lush dense foliage as far as the eye can see.

Witcher 3 also looked amazing to me in stills

once you started playing it tho, it FELT passable to just outright poo

The real kicker is that this game shipped with very little bugs and framerate issues. An open world game to boot

Yeah, I think it did, but hey cleaned up the pop in more, the AA, texturing...It just looks much more polished. Which it should do, except other games have dialled back their visuals close to release. Not this one!

to be fair, not all(or most) devs have the budget Sony can give its devs, nor direct access to hardware on that level to optimize for a closed box

i swear some devs have passed off stuff in tech demos less impressive than this.
absolutely ridiculous shit that its happening in an open world game.

somehow , sony continues its industry leading visuals and no bullshots streak.
I know its not gonna happen but i want atleast ONE big game made with pro as base.

That said , you gotta appreciate sony, they werent lying, it does look like selling pro isnt their primary objective from here and its ultimately a more exclusive thing for select few .

Horizon was made by a Sony 1st party developer purely for the PS4 system. The Witcher 3 was made by a freelance developer for release across 3 different platforms.

It's unfair to compare CD Projekt RED's title to one developed by a team dedicated to just one platform and with access to all the latest graphics libraries etc from the hardware manufacturer.
