How bad is cheating in your favourite online game currently?

I play Apex Legends and it's again at epidemic levels in ranked and pubs play.

6,000,000 accounts banned since 2019. 100,000 banned very month. Those figures are not even including the scale of Zen/Cronus devices that go unpunished nor new accounts cycling abuse.

In ranked play at diamond and master in Australia it's literally cheats every game at some point. Aim bots, wall hacks, auto aim, rapid fire and the list just goes on and on.

It gets pretty tiresome in MM. I long for a good PvE game like Destiny 1 to play with friends.

How is your fav game going at the moment?

Feels pretty OK in Mario Kart 8. But then again there are a lot of items that screw you over and it’s not entirely skill based so it’s not always obvious. Feels like a game where it’s pretty easy to cheat and make it look legit.

when I used to play Mario Kart online I get those assholes who get star item just stop on their track just hit you, they don’t even care winning the race.

The reason I stop playing online games I never had fun playing any of them.

Yeah, that’s happened to me once or twice. It’s definitely way more annoying than people cheating to try to get first place, since they’ll usually be so far ahead you won’t notice them either way when playing.

I have 5500 hours on Counter Strike 2 and 2500 hours on cs 1.6 (that I still play regularly)

I mainly play Faceit but if I'm playing with my lower-skilled friends we usually play valve matchmaking and get a blatant cheater 1/5 games. As for 1.6, there was a popular pug server that was around for years and had veteran players and even some former semi-pros playing there but a new software was created that scanned people's post-match demos to find out what extra files they were running, and oh boy... finding out how many people I looked up to were cheating was honestly depressing, almost half of all the regulars were either caught or suspiciously stopped playing, the thing is many of these players were clearly skilled and didn't need to cheat to put up good numbers but they still did.

So many have troubles just taking a los or being bested some of the time, I guess even the skilled are pushed to cheat. Sad.

I don't play PVP focus games, so the worst I have to deal with is leaderboard cheaters. As somebody with very little competitive spirit, me being in the bottom hundreds or 1000s while people hack and cheat their way to 1st -10th, I couldn't care less.

PUBG ist quite high. I report quite a few people and get 1-2 ban notices weekly. We still manage to win every 10th game or so.

Mario Kart 8, I don't have enough experience to see if someone's cheat or is just good / has item luck. I had some pretty lucky wins by items in the last three boxes. I am sitting at 3700 VR though if that makes a difference and only play global.

Warzone high lvl ranked, every 2 to 3 games 1 blatant cheater , u report them sometimes they do get banned but next 3, 4 games u find one again.
We can talk shit about cheating how they are sore losers and what do they get out of it when they know they are cheating and are risking their accounts to be banned , but somehow i keep finding more and more of them.
The worst part is most of the cheaters in warzone are on pc and when you say let's get pc out of matchmaking of consoles all hell breaks loose

MW2019 - Cheaters every other match or so. Fairly sure there are hacks for Black Ops 6 on day 1. Heck there were cheaters in the beta.

CS has a pattern that i observe on almost every public match.
In pistol round there is at always that one guy getting 2-3 kills mainly with HS, like 3 kills shooting like 3-4 shots, almost all headshots.

On the second round you are outgunned and the cheater's team opens up on a 2/3-0 and then that guy begin to play normally without laser HSing you on every single engagement but with the money/weapons advantage.

I can't remember exactly which MK game it was, probably Wii or DS but not sure, I remember some blatant cheating going on. A full circle of each item spinning around them for the entire race. Unlimited everything.

I also played a ton of Starhawk and there were tons of hackers being invisible, running around killing people as ghosts.

Currently I only play a few games online, like Destiny 2, Rocket League and Monster Hunter. Haven't seen cheating in MH because it's a co op, but I guess those players could be using cheats, but once you get built up you're like a god anyway, so no real point there. D2 and RL are another story. I often come across players that are just a little too hard to kill, move just a little too fast, their aims are just a little too perfect, or their cars fly a little too long etc and this is on console.

I realize this isn't always a case of cheating, some players are just amazing.

I can imagine it being DS, that one was crazy in terms of cheating. Probably because it was super easy with Nintendo DS ActionReplay cards being sold at retailers.

I mainly play MK1 PC online. Many did not want this because they thought it would bring rampant cheating. Surprisingly, there arent really any cheaters in the game.

It is really hard to say, I've been called a cheater so many times that I don't believe anyone who claim it nowdays, cheating is a problem but accusing everyone that is better than us of cheating is going to make harder and harder to find the real ones.

Haven't played in a while, but used to play Supreme Commander in a mode with some agreed upon rules on units that the game couldn't enforce. If you broke them your own teammates would fuck your shit up until you stopped.

I don't have a favorite online pvp game anymore...

So enough said I suppose.

In R6 Siege I very rarely have seen a very suspect cheater, but the banned "pop us" in game are frequent and hilarious.

A Fucking Idiot
The leader boards in Forze Horizon 5 are cooked. In a game where the object is to race around in the fastest time possible it makes it virtually pointless to play to compete. You can play the game as a car collection simulator, but there is no point in playing to win. The devs know it too, it's been like that since day 1 but all they care about is the next DLC pack.

I've never noticed any cheating in Rocket League.
I'm sure it exists and I wouldn't be surprised if there are cheats like infinite boost or somehow being magically directed toward the ball or something like that but if I've played against players doing that I haven't noticed it.

Star Wars Battlefront 2, I don't think it needs explanation, but last time I played it, which was over a year ago, there was a dude that changed to any character that he wanted and teleporting all over the map.

I'm afraid to get back into this game again.

i think there is some in Deadlock but i think they get dealt with. Cheating in online games has never made any sense to me, what are you accomplishing for yourself?

I've seen on youtube what feels like forever ago that there are definitely hacks for aiming the ball to the goal, but I don't feel like i've ever seen anybody that feels like they're magically scoring in any game I've ever played.

EA Anti-Cheat was recently added to Battlefield 1 which has cut down on cheaters & modders quite a lot. Unfortunately people be so thirsty to cheat you can still get the odd one on a server, but now they stand out even more than ever thankfully.
