How can Microsoft win back your heart for XB1?

I cancelled my preorder. It went all down hill after the April reveal and all the back tracks after that.

Seems Microsoft (not going to say xbox division) really doesnt know what it wants or considering one of their motos was where do you want to go today. Seems they haven't got a fucking clue.
 
I don't buy consumer electronics with my heart - I use my head.

So, they cannot. Only time will passing and seeing where the xbone platform is going will change my mind.

Something like this would be a good start. And a history of continued support and unique game experiences, Quantic Dream, Sony Japan.

Basically, they can't... own a 360 too and I see myself getting an XB1 this generation.

Pretty much this.

What's most imporant are the games. I have no interest in multimedia functionalites (I have an HTPC with XBMC in the living room).
Bring good games and I'm a happy customer.

I'll be getting both the PS4 and XB1 next year.

Oh, and no RRoD-type of fuckup please.
 
Drop the price and get more Halo 5 media out there. Even if they have to hire a company to produce a render target video.
 
A steady stream of quality first party games for a longer period of time than what we're currently seeing. Making a full blown Crimson Skies game would help, too.

Redesign the machine to be focused on games, not nfl, tv and whatever else they are pushing. Give me specs that blow up my skirt.
 
I'm weak, as soon as there is something I want to play on it I will buy one.

I hated my PS3 for years and Sony managed to turn it around, I can't see why MS can't convince me to buy their system eventually.
 
Alan Wake 2. Hell, I'd have gone for a Xbone over a PS4 even with the DRM and whatnot if Alan Wake 2 was a launch title. QB looks.... not that good compared to what AW2 could look like.
 
Having games I care about would be a good first step, but that hasn't happened with their first two consoles so I don't see it happening here.
 
They never had it.

They did their best to put me off, so they are not getting any.

Games. More games that appeal to me. I do not like Gears, Halo or COD and have very little interest in Titanfall. The 360 convinced me by being the home of indies when Sony was dragging ass.
 
Good games.

I couldn't give two shits about the price, or the Kinect, or the hardware. I play video games to have fun experiencing good games. Give me a ton of those and I won't really care about everything else.

I cant see myself paying more knowing the PS3 will be just as capable if not more so at $100 less. Have it per-orderd but it is almost a certainty now I wont be keeping it.
 
I really only wanted to get 1 game console this generation. (housemate has the Wii U). I was already leaning towards PS4, but was always willing to keep an open mind.

Microsoft can really do nothing to make me prefer them. A 65% smaller box with no external PSU for 100 dollars cheaper with Sony 1st party titles is unbeatable.
Had Sony made any real big missteps this generation, it would have been a tougher choice.

But the PS4 seems to be built with gamers in mind and is the more consumer friendly choice.
Plus, I will have a Vita some day and remote play will be tits.
 
A couple years of PR speak that's only baseline dumb instead of massively dumb, a large price cut, and most of the gen elapsing without any sign of the online stuff returning.

Also of course enough exclusives.
 
Yeah having services like Netflix, Hulu, Twitch, HBO Go, etc as part of Gold is crazy. You can use other devices to watch these services without an extra fee (The servers streaming the content to your Xbox is from the companies mentioned above, not Microsoft so why put them behind that pay wall? Heck out of all the services I listed above only Twitch is even free to begin with. The others ALREADY require a monthly fee or subscription. I let my Gold lapse about 2 years ago and basically the only thing I can do with my Xbox now is play Single Player games. Its like owning a computer and not being connected to the internet, it just doesn't' make sense in 2013 just as it didn't make sense 5 years ago.
 
I decided to rid myself of Microsoft products just before the Xbox One DRM fiasco. Said DRM fiasco only pushed me further away from them, and made me realise that I'd made the right decision. The only Microsoft product I use nowadays is Windows 7, and I hope to switch away from that at some point.

In short, there is absolutely nothing Microsoft could do to win me back, short of spinning Xbox off into a new company that has different intentions than MS does.
 
Nothing, that ship already sailed. I am too gunshy now with all the misdirection and changes they have made. If they don't know the direction they are truly going, then why would I want to invest in following them.
