You should go visit Fitness GAF they'll give you some good advice. As someone who currently is 5 11 and 280. Works out 5-6 a week and eats right(record all my food and cook almost all my food) I am not very happy with myself mainly because people seriously judge you when you are fat. I have had a really hard time losing weight. There is a big assumption that you are lazy and not put together if you are fat. I spend a lot of time trying to look decent for a bigger guy.
I'd trade anything to be skinny really. That's truthfully how I have felt since puberty when I started gaining weight for no reason. I'd trade anything to be skinny.
Also i will spare myself the embarrassment and not read the stuff people have put in this thread. I'd surely go off on some of the clearly ignorant bullshit I expect to read.

I already went over there and got some advice. I started doing less cardio and more strength training. Drinking more water and I'm heading to an endocrinologist. You should go visit Fitness GAF they'll give you some good advice.
You seem to be working hard. If you've been at it a while and have seen no progress you're probably doing something wrong. Fit GAF is probably better for advice.
I've tried between 1500 and 2500 net calories(calories in minus calories out) a day at various points.Out of interest how many calories do you consume on average a day? Is it something you've talked to a doctor about?
The whole point of the majority of my posts is that I'm not blaming anyone else and that I don't particularly care that I am fat. You probably give more of a shit than I do.Unless your obesity is caused by a medical condition, it is a choice, and you can change it. Or you could just blame it on the world and stick your head in the sand.
I figured you were better than this.It is the most aesthetically repulsive.
Wasn't trying to educate, just give a ballpark figure. Should have probably made that clearer.
I find it hard to believe that anybody that eats more calories than they burn (read: unhealthy diet, lack of exercise) stays slim. I certainly didn't.
I do, however, take issue with everyone acting like a fucking armchair nutritionist anytime one of these threads come up. "Well in most cases this and this" and it's all done as a way to look down at those lazy, terrible fat people. You don't care about my health or anyone else's health. It's just done as a way to make people feel better. And I get so fucking sick of being inundated with it constantly. And the answer is never people should stop being assholes, the answer is always "well why don't you try to lose some weight?"
The same way I feel about uneducated people and people who are terrible with finances; it's not good, and all of these things are things which people could correct if they worked hard and disciplined themselves.
I'd just appreciate it if I could go out in public sometime and not deal with the feeling of everyone around me judging me. Based on the posts in this thread, that's what's happening.
I figured you were better than this.
I hate poor people for not working hard enough to not be poor.
You know what else. I know a bunch of non-fat people who eat terribly and don't gain weight. People don't seem to give them shit at all though.
You can have high blood pressure, heart disease, or high cholesterol and not be fat. I won't escalate this discussion.being poor is not a choice. most ppl are born into it. you're not born into being fat/obese
why would ppl who don't gain weight be given shit about?
Yeah it's time to leave this fucking thread before I get banned. The same way I feel about uneducated people and people who are terrible with finances; it's not good, and all of these things are things which people could correct if they worked hard and disciplined themselves.
There are lots of not good, correctable problems in the world, and obesity is not the worst of them. It is the most aesthetically repulsive, but objectively someone who is terrible with their money and goes deep in debt may cost me more money as a fellow citizen than an obese person does. The cost of an uneducated workforce is incalculable, and so forth.
I am confused. Are you eating more than 2500 calories per day even if you did 0 exercise?I already went over there and got some advice. I started doing less cardio and more strength training. Drinking more water and I'm heading to an endocrinologist.
My point still stands.
I've tried between 1500 and 2500 net calories(calories in minus calories out) a day at various points.
No. I just increased my net to 2500 because a net of 1500 for 3 months lost me no pounds. Advice from a dietician and online thought that maybe I was in starvation mode.I am confused. Are you eating more than 2500 calories per day even if you did 0 exercise?
Lol, I'm one of those. I can sometimes be seen eating a lot of junk food. But the truth is that I'm overall an undereater, which is -not- healthy either, and it's exactly why I'm underweight. You know what else. I know a bunch of non-fat people who eat terribly and don't gain weight. People don't seem to give them shit at all though. I'm a grad student and I pretty much eat protein and vegetables for my lunch and dinner. They people are eating 4 and 5 slices of pizza, candy, donuts etc. and not working out.

I'M NOT ON A DIET.
I'M NOT GOING ON A DIET.
I DON'T WANT WEIGHT LOSS TIPS.
I KNOW HOW TO EAT TO MAKE MY BODY FEEL BETTER.
I COULD USE MORE ACTIVITY IN MY LIFE.
IF I GET SMALLER I GET SMALLER.
I HAVE.
IF I DON'T I COULDN'T GIVE A FUCK.
I'd just appreciate it if I could go out in public sometime and not deal with the feeling of everyone around me judging me. Based on the posts in this thread, that's what's happening. Whatever, I'm done wasting my time with this shit.
Posted from my PC keyboard, typed by my Cheetos dust covered fingers.
I don't eat any processed carbohydrates. I never buy snacks. I only purchase meat and vegetables mostly. I have streamlined pretty hard. Everyone I tell my story to tells me I was not eating enough.I know nothing, but you might want to try going lower than that (I'm suspect someone who knows better is going to say that's a horrible idea). It's hard but it's definitely possible, if you haven't already see a dietician and try and work something out. Also I don't know if you do this but I try and cut out as many "luxury" calories as possible. For example I never, ever eat butter or margarine on toast and if a low-fat alternative to something is available I always eat that instead. I figure I might as well save on calories where I can, and after a while your taste buds adjust and you don't even really notice. Good luck.

Point being are these people supposed to be praised because their metabolism is superior?
Edit: Ignore, I'm probably wrong!
Wow, that sucks then. Could be thyroid issues.No. I just increased my net to 2500 because a net of 1500 for 3 months lost me no pounds. Advice from a dietician and online thought that maybe I was in starvation mode.
Are you measuring and monitoring what they eat closely for weeks? I can and do have an entire pizza and forgo exercise without gaining weight because it adds up to 2000 calories and it's literally all I eat all day.
Metabolism works the same for everyone with very rare exceptions.

You sure about that. What makes a skinny person an expert nutritionist? That was a dumb comment.Well we certainly are a lot more qualified to give nutritional advice than fat people.
Believe it or not, not getting fat and eating normal amounts does not require years of education... Most people (well not in America where half the population is obese) are able to feed themselves without becoming overweight, it's not hard or complicated.
The fuck? You can fix your weight issues.
I figured you were better than this.

Years. I have been using MFP for 2 years albeit on and off. I weigh my food.
Currently have a fitbit and looking at getting a heart rate monitor. I track all my working out eating and standard activity.
My time in this thread went about as well as I expected. I saw it percolating up on the OT listing for a few hours now. I popped in.
Mods explaining how being fat is like being bad with money. People telling me I must be doing something wrong. People explaining how skinny people make better nutritionists.
This is why I hate being fat. I'd trade it for anything. The amount of shit you get for being fat... Doesn't matter how active you are or what you eat. At the end of the day you are still a fat person. You are a fat person jogging down the street. Fat person on a bike. Fat person at the gym. Fat person at the restaurant.
Lesson here is. Fat people stay home. Keep your aesthetically unpleasing bodies hidden.
You sure about that. What makes a skinny person an expert nutritionist? That was a dumb comment.
You don't know me. What the fuck is this?Dude, you're bullshitting. Unless you have some super rare disorder or something (in which case, get a better doctor and get treated) metabolisms work the same for everyone. Some people's are faster than others but at the end of the day if you burn more calories than you consume, you lose weight. Bottom line. If you're not losing weight, you're not doing it right.
Fuck me, people think there's a justification for everything these days.
The same way I feel about uneducated people and people who are terrible with finances; it's not good, and all of these things are things which people could correct if they worked hard and disciplined themselves.

Yeah im not justifying being fat at all. I actually work very hard not to be fat and would prefer not to be fat. What was he justifying? He sounded like he was just stating how he feels.
Since you are such a weight loss master please tell me what I should improve.I used to be overweight myself. I lost 55 pounds by unfucking my diet and working out. I know plenty of shit about weight loss. Eat clean meals, work out. It's that simple.

At some point I was eating 1500 calories a day( high fiber, high protein, no processed carbohydrates). Working out 5-6 times a week. 45 minute of cardio and 30 minutes of HIIT interlaced during the week. Lifting for 30 minutes each day.
I lost no pounds over that 3 month period. Please oh wise one tell me your masterful advice.
How do you improve cardio numbers?Did your cardio and lifting numbers improve?
You don't know me. What the fuck is this?
You don't know shit about weight loss. The calories in minus calories out thing is a fallacy. I've had weeks of 10,000 calorie deficits before. If this works according to 3500 calories a pound I should be losing nearly 3 pounds a week. Guess what I did not.
What kind of cardio? Things like treadmills and bicycles actually don't contribute much to weight loss at all, and may actually make you fatter45 minute of cardio
Not one person who has come into this thread with stories about weight loss has differed. We all eat better and exercised more. Tomorrow I am going to run for 45 minutes during lunch and spend an hour at night lifting weights. I would rather be playing video games or drinking but instead I have chosen to exercise. It sucks but that's what I have to do to keep the weight off.Since you are such a weight loss master please tell me what I should improve.

This is the type of judgmental bullshit I am talking about. Good for you. I will be in the gym tomorrow like I am 5-6 days a week. I will eat healthy like I do everyday. Not one person who has come into this thread with stories about weight loss has differed. We all eat better and exercised more. Run faster or longer. I am training for a half marathon and a triathlon. I have to run longer than the day before for the marathon and on 5k days I have to run faster and work on my sprints. How do you improve cardio numbers?
