Call it Lego Nintendo World or Lego Mario... just make the shit

Imagine a co-op game created by TT Games in the same vein as the great star wars and marvel series lego games with a killer story and where you can unlock all these playable Nintendo Characters from Mario to Pokemon to Zelda to Starfox to Fire Emblem to Smash Bros to ANimal Crossing to Glass Joe to well, shit, ever nintendo character ever!!

Factor in AMIIBO support for each character getting a special perk, Amiibo would fly off the sheleves again!!

I don't think anyone expects a Nintendo exclusive Lego game to be profitable.
Lego likely demands multi-format releases too.

Why would Nintendo want to make a Mario game with a third party and have to give them half the profits?

The Lego physical toys are different because that’s not Nintendo’s forte and by getting Mario toys out there it encourages young children to want to play the games which then moves hardware and software which Nintendo get 100% of.

Now show me the particular person like him from the Lego games. He was largely the reason Ubisoft got the Rabbids cross over deal over the line. Mario + Rabbids was also a genre Nintendo needed at the time. Nintendo already have similar third person action games in their portfolio and they already get all the Lego games and probably have a great deal money split wise with those games considering they sell 3-4x aswell on Switch versus PS or Xbox.

The Lego Mario designs are an abomination, so no thanks.

I mean the actual characters, the sets and side characters are usually pretty good, but the Mario figure itself needs to be launched into the sun.

It would certainly be profitable, even if it was exclusive to Nintendo systems, since most of the market for Lego Mario would have a Switch and the budget would be relatively modest. I'm sure it would sell a few million units and that should be more than enough.

You could be right that Lego mandates multiplatform releases though. We still don't know with absolute certainty who made the call about Lego Horizon going to the Switch, but it's definitely plausible that multiple platforms is non-negotiable, which would clearly be a no-go for Nintendo, who wouldn't even allow a Samus skin in Fortnite.

I’ve thought about this as well. I was kind of expecting to see some collaboration when we heard about LEGO City Undercover being an WiiU exclusive early on.

It’s even more of a mystery these days though given all of the physical LEGO sets they’ve released. And the Mario LEGO figure even has NFC, so the “Amiibo” already exists. Synergy all around.

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!
Because Nintendo can just make their characters in any style they want I guess, normal, paper, wool, clay, whatever, they could do toys too (wasn't that the first Smash's premise), just not licenced. I suppose a collaboration isn't totally out of the question as they did with Ubisoft or Sega though.
