I've only ever met one person that does this. I work with him about four times a year and he uses it all the bloody time. Made worse because he works with someone called Laurence who of course, everyone calls Lol. He relishes the moments when he can say lol Lol knowing how much it makes me want to kill him.

Really often, but I'm Dutch. 'Lol' in Dutch means 'fun'.
