How much are you spending on a Switch day one?

So far I'm getting the black one for me with Zelda special edition.
My best friend and his wife are moving back to my state as she is leaving the military and I'll be moving in with the both of them. We talk daily on the phone and skype and spend a lot of time playing games together such as monster hunter so I have a neon one pre ordered for her and a black one for him.

They have no clue I'm getting it for them but with how much they are spending to move back and buy the house they bought they decided to hold off even though they really want one. I can't wait to have them show up and have them freak out!! They are so kind to let me move in at 1/3 of what I pay to live alone now so I can save for a house.

Side note I'm guessing the best multiplayer game on release for us would be bomberman right? Maybe I'll get us each a copy of that also. I've been saving up a lot and will get my tax return around then also

Neon Switch - 300
Zelda SE - 80
Charging Grip - 30
So, a little over 400 for me, which won't be too bad since I get my bonus from work not too long after.

Might grab some things on the eshop too... also probably get a case and screen protector ideally. Still waiting on final prices for everything, hoping to get the best deals here in the UK. Bomberman is still £50 everywhere but I can't see that sticking as it's an absurd price.

Quite a lot for something that's probably just going to end up being a Zeldabox for a large part of its lifespan. (Maybe Mario as well.)

But I'm pretty much a whore for the mainline Zelda games, so I'll take that L.

This is one of those times it's not fun being canadian followed by ridiculous taxes.

Better deliver Nintendo.

Actually 0€.
But if I had the money and time to buy and play with it I would say:
Console 320€
Zelda 59€
Bomberman 29€?

So more or less 400€

The will be getting obvious essentials:

Gray Switch: $300
Zelda CE: $80 (due to Amazon Prime savings, I'm getting $20 off)
Pro Controller: $70

Depending on how much money I have floating around in March, I may pick up Bomberman as well for co-op/secondary game. Maybe 1,2 Switch as well to show off the new tech to friends if I'm feeling rich.

I need that pro controller and charge grip in my life. Money well spent, and I'm going to enjoy the hell out of the joycon tech most likely. Nintendo has yet to let me down on a controller, and this seems to be following the same path.

2x Switches (599.98)
Breath of the Wild Collectors (99.99)
1-2 Switch (49.99)
Bomberman (39.99??)
Potentially a Pro Controller (69.99) if VC is live at launch

£80.

I really want limited edition BotW but I'm going to wait for the console to overcome the inevitable teething problems first.
And come down in price a bit.

"March 3rd" day one?
$0

None myself, but a friend was telling me she's placed about £576 in pre-orders. I'm guessing that's all the launch games and an extra set of controllers.

Zero dollars and zero cents. There's just nothing compelling at launch for me. The Wii U, however...

Still haven't bought a Wii U yet, will probably wait a similar amount of time before buying the switch

Until the console can be purchased for $199 - $0.00.

I'm leaning towards zero dollars at this point whereas before the 12th I was all in.

Day 1?

$0.

We'll see how it goes by Christmas. I might buy in then if there's a price drop and a packed in game which isn't 1 2 Switch.

Zero really. I got burned by the Wii and burned by the Wii U. Not falling for it again.

If I can see at least 5 or 6 games down the road that look good on the system then I'll consider it, but I've never thought the idea of getting a console for one game was worth it.

Nothing.

First Nintendo console I won't have bought day one since the SNES. But...it's region free, so I will get one at some point.

My wallet's safe on day one.

Zero point zero.

I don't get this one. Why just 1?
I'm not going in day 1, OP. Just not worth it for me yet.

Day 1? 0$

maybe next year or in two years.

$0.

I'll play BotW on my Wii U.

Zero. You wouldn't catch me alive in the possession of such a ghastly console.

$0
Sorry with the insane amount of Switch threads I feel I needed to reply to one.

If by "day one" you mean launch day? Zero.

If you mean "when I feel comfortable owning one in its current state, whenever that may be", that's a difficult thing to answer when I don't even know when that is and what will be available at that time.

0$, Nintendo is going to have to paddle real hard to get me interested in them again...

Exactly $0.00 at launch.

Zero.

Super Mario Odyssey will convince me to have one though once it's out.

$0 USD, or 0€ for my PALs

Zero.

If I end up getting it down the line? Probably just Zelda, console, and maybe a Pro controller.

Zero.

Waiting for a price cut or a Zelda bundle, whatever comes first.

A big fat lonely zero.

$0

Buying it in holiday along with the new mario instead. Hopefully with a bundle.

$0, no games no buy

Eventhough I have preorded.. I think it'll be zero euro..

tl;dr 0€

After the press event my enthusiasm has lowered.. and I'll probably wait for the eventual bundle with games and for the prices to drop.

IMO it's gonna be yet another "WiiU" launch with lack of content (especially since I have Wiiu) and way overpriced hardware overall..

Given the price and lack of info on many features, 0. Buying Zelda to Wii U instead.

  • Grey Console
  • Charging Grip
  • Pro Controller
  • Blue and Red Joycon Pair (Just in case of short supply come Mario Kart time)
  • Zelda BOTW Special Edition
  • Accessory Kit (Case and such because WE DON'T GET THE ZELDA ONE)
  • 2x Red Joycon Straps
  • Extra AC adapter for travel
  • Snipperclips (Because I've been waiting for it for like 2 years)

Total = £578.02

Possibly Super Bomberman R depending on the price

Then I'll live off instant ramen and no lessons will be learnt! =D

Console (Neon) - $300
Zelda - $60
Tablet case - $20
Screen Protector - $7

So $387, reasonable enough. I am considering a Pro Controller if they stop being dolts and list the thing already.

Nintendo Switch - $299.99
Zelda: Breath of the Wild Master Edition - $129.99 - 20% Prime discount = $103.99
4 Zelda Breath of the Wild amiibo - $15.99 - %20 Prime discount * 4 = $51.17
Zelda Guardian amiibo - $19.99 - 20% Prime discount = $15.99

Might buy things like a USB Type-C cable and screen protector as well.

I'm in Mexico and we still don't know it's official price yet but I can certainly predict it'll be around $7,500 to $8,000 pesos wich is around $370 dollars, plus the game wich will be BoTW and it'll cost $1400 pesos wich is $63 dollars... $433 dollars in total. Mama mia I will need a second job :c

Nintendo Switch - $300
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - $60
1-2 Switch - $50
Bomberman - $50 (probably 50)
Joy-Cons Blue - $80
Joy-Cons Red - $80
Joy-Cons Charger - $30
Joy-Con Charge Grib - $30
Pro Controller $70
Hori Stand - $13
Switch Starter Kit $30

If I am buying it day one (still not sure)

Console €330
Zelda €60-€100 (depending if I can get the special/master edition)
Bomberman €??
Puyo Puyo (J) €??
Portable case €??
USB-C powerbank €35 (shamelessly stolen from one of the other posts)
Smartphone €300
Internet that actually allows me to play online €25 additional a month
Maybe Nobunaga's ambition/Romance of the Three Kingdoms - €??

That is like €800 out of the box and €25 a month (on top of the internet cost I have now). Guess why I am a little hesitant.

I justified the costs by selling my PSVR and its games to a friend.

Console - $300
Zelda - $48 (Prime Discount)
Bomberman - $48 (hopefully lower!)
1-2 Switch - $40
Neon Joycons - $80

Total = $516

May still add a Pro and a Charging Grip. That's still up in the air.

After getting burned by buying the 3ds and wii u on launch day, I will not buy the switch at launch. Maybe in November or December. Closer to Mario launch and see what else comes out during the year. I was never going to get the special edition of Zelda so that game should still be available by then. Right?

CAD: 349.99 + tax for the console (Already put down the $50 plus ta for pre-order), 63.99 + tax for Breath of the Wild. I don't expect to be spending any more unless the Virtual Console has some worthwhile offerings I haven't purchased on the Wii/Wii U since the other launch titles don't jump out as must-buys. I would consider getting a 128/200/256 GB SD card but I don't know what would be the best one to purchase.

I think for now, I'm only going to pick up Zelda.

My wife brought up the Switch jokingly asking our dog if he wanted one(inside joke about the dog being lazy and just watching TV). It let me kind of sneak in a "do you want a Switch"? She said if I want one, it was okay. I confessed that I already preordered.

The 3DS was my last launch console as well, and it's true, IIRC they adjusted the price down about $50 after release, and we received the Ambassador games. Was nice and all, but still a hassle that I hope won't happen again.

Console and Zelda regular edition.

I'm hoping at Pax South I can just hold my hands on that switch controller.

The layout and ergonomics do not look appealing, but I really don't want to drop 70 for the pro controller just for Zelda.

I'm sort of worried the pro controller might be sold out everyone if I don't get it now, but man it's a steep cost.
