The way that thing is moving boggles my mind.Starting to look more like a turn than a wobble. Could make landfall further southeast than expected. No sign of any real weakening yet either. And it will have to weaken by almost 50mph not to make landfall as a Cat 5.

200 mph = 320 km/h
This is Dorothy Kansas type shit.
Houses and cars are going to be tossed around like they are nothing.

you're using the old scale brehTo put this in perspective, an F4 tornado has winds of 207 mph. This hurricane has sustained winds of 200mph. Any tornado the system spawns thats below an F4 will actually reduce winds
I was watching the news earlier and they said there was gonna be ton of rain here (san antonio, tx) and w the pressure coming down the east coast (at sea not land) looks like it would push rain our way. Maybe I'm just too high but I was wondering if that pressure would push the hurricane to the right as well given the model shown on tv.Yikes, moving more to the right makes it look like it might hit Manzanillo head on.

The 1959 hurricane which made landfall in the same region is the only east pacific hurricane on record to make landfall at Cat 5 intensity.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1959_Mexico_hurricane
It was 958mb and 160mph at it's peak.
Patricia is currently 880mb and 200mph.
1,800 dead. Jesus christ.
Hopefully the increases in communication technology will make this one a lot less deadly
I am very worried for the poor people, that kind of hurricane on an third world
country is a bad mix. Just in Colima there are more than 200,000 people living on this kind of "houses" :
Specially located near the coast , surely they will be blow away. Army has been evacuating the area since yesterday , hope the people go to refugees.
Well... considering this post...
OMG
At 880 millibars of barometric pressure in the eye, it's officially the most intense tropical cyclone recorded in the Western Hemisphere (the record is 870 millibars for Typhoon Tip in the Pacific in 1979).
It was 880 on the final pass the recon plane made before it had to return to base, but it was deepening on every pass before that so it could well have gotten down to 870 or deeper but we'll never know.
Yeah. But judging from the image it seems it has weakened just a bit now.
Yes, cloud tops have warmed slightly, it has probably peaked but the structure still looks very impressive. We'll know soon when recon gets there.
Hi there. I'm in Guadalajara, very close to Puerto Vallarta where they expect the most damage. We are in the "calm before the storm" right now, it's raining lightly but the news are saying the worst part will come around 6-7 PM. My thoughts to everyone in Vallarta and places nearby.
Get the fuck out of htere
Damn, I have lots of friends in Jalisco I hope they and all the people are as safe as they can.
I remember hurricane Alex here in Monterrey a few years ago, shit went crazy and it wasn't as dangerous as Patricia :/
Stay strong Jalisco, México is going to support you in all ways after this is over.
This. Anyone in that region needs to be bailing the heck out. As fast as possible.
Oh yes, Alex did a number to Monterrey, didn't have water and electricity for like a week. Stay safe.
