Hyper Light Drifter |OT| We On A HyperLight Beam

huh, i'll give it a go...

logged out and in of the psn store, sony account and ps4 console. Computer says no

I think i've got a duff code

We all got bad codes, hope they fix it soon.

We have the privilege of paying more years ago and having to wait after launch, love Kickstarter

I stopped playing Hyper Light Drifter back in April, even though I was far from tired of the game, simply becauase Dark Souls III came out.

But as I play more and more of Dark Souls III, I really really miss Hyper Light Drifter. Can't wait to just play it some more, NG+ should be a blast. I might even try some speedruns.

I'm starting to think this will be my game of the year.

Tried again and my code for the actual game and for one of the DLC's still isn't working (only the alt drifter pack seems to be legit).

Same issue, I redeemed on the console store itself though.

This is my purchase history:

The game is not in my library or on my download list however.
Getting exact same thing as this but no game.

Edit: I'm guessing that there is some kind of problem to do with there being two versions of the game on EU/UK PSN stores (one with preorder discount which should have finished already) and one regular. Are the problems only for people who have the PSN version or is it XBL as well? (I remember there was some issues with Sony codes for Mighty No 9, so could be a Sony thing).

Can't stress enough how messed up this is. You guys should've been playing this a few days early, instead of dealing with bad codes. Hope everything gets fixed for people who've been reporting these problems...

Yeah outside of a indie developer I utterly trust or a project that is on the absolute verge of not getting funded (such as the last few days of the Lab Zero 'Indivisible' campaign), I can't see myself using Kickstarter for much anymore. All of the games I've backed were either cancelled or there were active downsides to being on the Kickstarter.

I understand its a platform to help games get made that wouldn't otherwise, but I'll just be keeping an eye and not pledging if the campaigns are comfortably hitting their goals. There's no reason to 'be a part of it from the beginning' when putting your money down at launch instead generally gets you a better customer experience.

I'm very happy to help out struggling devs but honestly stretch goals turn out to be more of a hindrance to most campaigns so as long as they are on track to hit their funding goals I will no longer be seeing the need to back campaigns ahead of time. I'd like to play System Shock and Prey for the Gods but as they're funded now I'll be waiting to put money down once they release.

(Notable exception goes to Radio the Universe, infrequent but regular and honest updates for that campaign have kept me very intrigued and it continues to look amazing. Really looking forward to the buzz when that one hits.)

Any reports on how this runs on Xbox?

Reporting in... I played it last night on XB1 for about an hour - everything ran smooth as far as I can tell.

Only 'thing' I noticed was there was no way to adjust screen size boundaries. I have a 55" and I had some text in the lower corners cut off.

I notice that on the PS4 as well and I am only playing on a 40" tv.

beat another boss. looks like the stuttering/framerate issues are exclusive to the east area.
game seems fine otherwise.

btw: the game is fucking amazing.

Kickstarter update titled "Quick update on EU keys for PSN"

It appears that the code banks that Sony Europe provided us for the main game were potentially incorrect. I have been working to get this fixed with Sony ASAP. I'm doing as much as I can to push this problem through their team so you can redeem your game codes properly. Thanks for your patience.

UPDATE: Sony has just responded, and have said they fixed the problem on their end. I'm figuring out what the next steps are for us and backers. Sit tight, please.

Anyone's US gold weapon codes work? Tried to claim mine again this morning and they still don't work.

EDIT: Just got an E-Mail saying the US backer DLC wasn't set to live yet and the problem should be resolved now.

Thanks! I wonder if it suffers from the same frame rate issues as PS4.

Does your TV not have its own ratio adjustment settings?

Kickstarter update titled "Sony Europe Update Part 2"

Sony Europe had a problem/mixup on their end with the game and dlc codes for the EU versions. After a night + very early morning of emailing and pushing with them, they have fixed their internal problem and sent new codes for both the main game and the Alt Drifter DLC. I will be distributing these through BackerKit ASAP.

Sorry for the problems, everyone; not how I wanted launch to go for you backers.

I backed for xbox one and still haven't received my code.

Haven't received my code either (PS4 EU) though. Looking at some of the comments it seems there people on both platforms still not having received any keys yet. I checked my backerkit account and the survey is filled out correctly and my wish for the PS4 is still noted as well. I guess we'll just have to wait.

Same thing happened with Mighty No. 9. Same thing happened with the Wrecking Crew (not game-related) documentary last year.

Kickstarter is pretty bad. I stopped using it after stuff like this.

I can say I got the DLC code for the PS4 version, but the code didn't work yet. I assume that's just not up yet, even though the main game went up early. Not sure if that's what you're asking, however.

I never got my DLC code. I don't know if anyone else on Xbox got there's.

I got my Xbox code Monday night and was able to download and play it with no problem. I guess I'm the minority.

Got the new PSN code and will claim it tonight, kudos to how fast they've resolved the situation. Probably wasn't that easy to get it done so quickly.

This game is lovely. The intro is incredible, overall artstyle gorgeous. Awesome music, too. Really enjoying it so far.

The game is pretty obscure though, it communicates with symbols and vague directions, I've ran into a number of situations where I had no idea what the hell was going on.

The combat is swift and brutal, but unfortunately I'm terrible with the gun, can't aim for shit [I am awful with top-down joystick shooters in general, so I totally blame myself and not the game].

Also, the game has a dedicated "sit down" button, and any game with a button dedicated to an idle animation like this is a-okay in my book.

Getting close to the first boss and the combat is starting to click. Specifically aiming took some time because I wanted to treat the gun as a twin stick but the right stick does nothing.

The art is incredible. Anyone that was becoming jaded by pixel art games should check this out. You could frame still images from this game.

Yep. Think I'm gonna get this on ze Xbox when I get home. Been looking at it for a long time and I was going to wait for the Vita version, but screw it. I'll probably double-dip.

I was a bit disappointed by this yeah. I expected the right stick to be an option for aiming. There's a gun with a laser sight that will make aiming easier though, and you don't need to use it at all with the shotgun.

Ugh yeah, so this game can certainly be tough in parts. I've just managed to clear the east part, and somehow beat the boss on my first attempt which I'm pretty proud about, but leading up to the boss I had about two situations which took me about ten attempts to get past, and when I did it was by some sheer luck. It's not particularly very fair when you keep respawning next to a fighting scenario with just half a health pack left.

Anyway, I've just got my shotgun, I've bought one upgrade which to be honest I have no fucking clue what it does cos the upgrade menu is so vague, up to the north I go! (tomorrow night)

When did Heart Machine say they'd be releasing the Alternate Drifter to non-backers?

I did back the game & the alternate drifter... but for PC. I'd rather rebut it in PS4, but I want the alternate DLC.

Back when the game originally launched. The alternate Drifter required quite a bit of work to implement and it's too interesting to restrict to such a small playerbase.

I found the info, it was in KS update #33:
“This Drifter will have a different move set and primary weapon, as well as some shifts in the story and interactions with NPCs, plus the obvious entirely new set of animations for a main character. (Which is lot of work!)

You'll be able to choose which character to play as at the start of the campaign. This Drifter will be available to all players down the road; what you get here is an early playable unlock. I hope this satisfies.”

TL:DR Alternate Drifter DLC will be available at a vague point in the future.

Well, this game definitely takes the "get good" approach. Combat is quick, but it's tough.

In regards to those who backed the alternate drifter, do you unlock that person after you beat the game the first time?

This game's structure is like a diet version of a Souls game. It takes all the best components of a Souls game and condenses it to it's most basic element such as how you refill your health to planning ahead your movements and attacks.

I got in contact with Heart Machine and if you didn't get the DLC when they sent out the game codes you might get it tomorrow. I was just told my code was gonna be sent tomorrow.

Maybe you have overscan set to "on" in your TV settings?

I notice that on the PS4 as well and I am only playing on a 40" tv.

You too...

Same here, PS4 on a 50" tv. Text cutoff on the bottom right at the Title Screen.

And you as well...

;)

Does this game have couch co-op on PS4, and if so how does it work?

Do you control two characters, or 1 character and 1 helper, and if one of the characters dies, do you both have to restart or can one revive the other?
