No. I've seen enough of the guy to know he belongs in the fucking trash.
Haha, fair enough. It was more for people saying or thinking he didn't do anything THAT bad, or that his freedoms have been infringed upon, etc.

You have issues if you're not a neglected child yet are somehow this addicted to a social media persona. Of course you have issues if you're a neglected child as well. Take care.
i am not addicted to him, i merely enjoy listing to him at work the same way millions of Americans enjoyed listieng to Rush Limbaugh and Michael savage. As far as personal insults against me that is not necessary.

OP could at least said he was banned, i had to google what happened.
I know almost nothing about him. Watched like 5 videos max, one was with a busty girl.

Looking at the video, it seems like he genuinely feels bad for what he's said and done, and this is something of a wake-up call for him. I hope he succeeds in changing those aspects about himself and his life he's unhappy with.

Not sure why people judge him so harshly. I don't actively watch him, but from what I've seen he's mostly just a quirky but fairly normal guy who reacts to videos and shares his opinions. Sometimes those opinions are fair, sometimes they're stupid. Of course there's his poor hygiene and the state of his place, but it's not like he's promoting that lifestyle. I get the argument that he steals content by reacting to it, but that's hardly unique to him.

Otherwise, he's only banned for two weeks, so it's hardly a big deal.

He is going through the typical influencer cycle:

1) Say a take so ridiculous it goes against a company's Terms of Service (this is the part defenders always conveniently ignore)
2a) Make apology tweet/video
2b) Double down on breaking TOS and become a kick/rumble streamer
3a) Comes back and avoids talking about certain topics, loses more radical part of fanbase who are upset that his free speech was 'silenced'. Algorithm on him is lessened a bit so he won't be as recommended, but he will still be watched and have income from it.
3b) Comes back and keeps doubling down, eventually loses money deals, hangs out with the wrong crowds, and is eventually found describing minors as attractive and siding with people who have done extremely questionable actions.

It would be hypocritical of him to cry about any of this because as he says in his own words about people who do the same, "It is what it is".

People take everything too far these days. The internet is a mess of hyper-polarized hot takes. The louder and more extreme, the better your metrics. It’s easy for a professional streamer to fall into that trap, especially one already predisposed to being unfiltered and spectrumy. And he was getting a huge amount of attention lately for having an unfiltered 30 minute take on every major event.

Instead of doubling down on that angle, the guy needs to clean his room, clean up his life, and be receptive to some form of mental health guidance. He has enough money, but the other stuff is in serious disrepair. Sounds like he might actually make the attempt now, which is great. Best of luck to him.

Who cares ....
What is it with some of you guys being so absorbed by the iq-vacuum that is social media?
You are worse than a group of Karens at a tea party.

The youtube algorithm loves recommending me his videos. I thought he was anti-Israel or at least against US tax payer money going to the war. He's normally pretty level headed, so I'm not sure of the context or what sparked these words. Anyway, getting political can do this to you.

I'm sure he's going to gain some rest exp and come back with the wind at his back.

Spent too much time online, got desensitized as many do, said some stupid crass shit without putting thought into it. He fucked up but not a unique situation given the nature of discourse these days on the Internet and with so many dividing issues.

At the very list his apology video is sincere.

Before anyone starts defending him or taking sides, watch his update.

He acknowledges that it was a fucked up thing to say.

His self-reflection seems very sincere and his take on having become 1-dimensional, living and thinking only from his streamer bubble is spot on. As someone who generally likes his content, I have noticed his self-righteous attitude. Often times his (geo-)political takes were very 1 sided, lacking context and reason, yet he would double down on it (while all his followers keep cheering and agreeing with him), as was the case with his Palestine take. I'm not a fan of Hasan, but the historic context he laid out and his arguments were spot on.

I don't know what he said but I do enjoy the fuck out of his videos when he plays games. Less so his commentary but the game Alt+F4 on Asmongold clips playlist on youtube is fucking epic and beyond hilarious. As mentioned I don't know what he said so I'll refrain from speaking either way about it.

Anyway, hope he learns or whatever and is back quickly and keeps his shit under wraps so he doesn't catch a ban again.

Well he said last month his mental health and over all health was poor. He really needs to seek help. The guy is a millionaire but can't find the time or effort to clean up. He's friends offered to help or even find a good company to help out bit he didn't want to.

If he comes back with a clean room. I'll be impressed. That's how low that bar is.

Also, yeah, this is what happens when people are perpetually online. Imagine if he spent time actually talking face to face with people about these things. Or listening to people with actual skin in the game describe what they're going through.

So weird how people of the internet gossip about media personalities like they know them as if friends and family IRL. Funny how culture changes with the technology.

If you're genuinely curious I can explain the timeline of events that led to some of GAF tuning into his content.

Edit: Or at least, explain the best I can from my own perspective.

Isn't he some sort of outrage grifter? Lots of them these days. Seems to be fairly popular, so I'm pretty sure he's made a good bit of money.

Outrage grifting either from the left or right is a big money maker these days, so he'll always have an audience.

Yeah, like a lot of people here have said - hopefully he actually takes time to figure this out.

I don't watch twitch, but I liked his youtube content. I think that was more filtered than what goes down on twitch. Perhaps he needs to just stick to edited youtube, that way he can still go hard but think about exactly what he said before releasing it. It would be a shame if he stopped, he is one of the very few video game content creators I actually watch.

Nah he great, it's like vicariously living dorm life again but as a 40yr old man haha. He's got some hot takes for sure but generally he's enjoyable.

Is OP going to miss him for a whole two weeks? What he said was fucked up, he'll take his timeout and he'll be back. I'd echo the others in the thread hoping that he takes a serious look at himself and gets it together, but whether he does or not won't change that he'll be back before Halloween.

I gotta say that I don't feel the need to understand this idiocy, just like I don't have to understand people who are into feet.
I'll stick to putting threads like this on ignore, but thank you anyways.

I don't know why people would miss the guy that embodies the south park warcraft slob except having genetics that make him not obese. It should just serve as a cautionary tale that even people who seem relatively grounded can let their ego allow them to hold extremely ignorant takes. Stop treating social media people like they're your friends.

I've never watched any of his streams.
I've only seen some of his videos posted around here, and in them he mostly comes across as just another rage bait "content creator" reacting to the random outrage of the week with the same generic takes as everyone else.

OMG guys looks here is Asmongold telling us the characters in Concord are ugly!

For the record I don't watch fucking Twitch, I only know of this from Youtube and his rep on my wow server back in the day, Kel'Thuzad. He was a legend on KT though.

He always struck me as a barely-literate turbodork with bad hygiene and poor life skills outside of being a computer-toucher. Which is why his fanbase identifies with him so strongly I guess, he's one of them.

Being long since I watched some of his videos, guess he flew too close to the sun, said something retarded and now is getting heat, after many many videos monetizing people in the same situation

🤦‍♂️

Streamers fumbling the bag is always hilarious to me. If they just stuck to their actual genre they'd be fine, you can even be a complete asshole.. just don't talk politics, religion, race... and enjoy your millions.
