I cant believe how much better GTA VC is on XDude

Can you do custom soundtracks in the Xbox version and then have those be radio stations? that would be awesome.

Your "tape" is the custom soundtrack.

I play Vice City just to ride around and listen to my favorite songs. Then I turn the weapons codes on and see how many stars I can get before the cops kill me. I cannot get into this game's main "quest".

Each soundtrack on your Xbox represents another "tape". So it's pretty easy to organize and change tapes on the fly.

Also, those 1280 shots don't make the game look any more impressive. Xbox version is still the best looking and best playing version of both games.

Heh ! Whatever, Xbox simply cannot do it, period. PC version rules.

The Xdude version has several special effects not coded into the PC version, including better lighting and bloom effects, as well as higher poly models in general. Sorry, it's a better version, unless you value resolution uber alles.

Yes, higher resolution and AA are THE things for a "primitive looking" game like GTA/GTA VC.

I had serious issues doing anything in first person on the Xbox(the on-rail chopper sniping in particular was enough to pawn that shit right back), they didn't really alter the range of the analog over the piss poor PS2 version. Fine tuning=not happening.

On PC I flew through that shit with the mouse, and the rest of the game was undistinguishable from the consoles playing via a cheapo DS2 adapter.

It's all moot though considering how bloody much SA pisses on VC. Seriously, 80's nostalgia aside, SA is tits.

Playing San Andreas on PS2 makes me really wish I was playing it on Xbox or PC instead. Such a great game. Such a shitty frame rate. I've already invested like 25 hours into it so I don't want to quit but I've been contemplating selling off my PS2 version and waiting for the superior Xbox or PC version to come out.

Yup. Vice City is so archiac in comparison.

Sorry, I'd rather have my game looking good than a high res piece of shit. Thanks.

Yea, I definately plan to upgrade SA in a year or so. The frame hitches do occur, but the mechanics are so far beyond the prequels. Targeting, visuals, modelling, control, fuck it's a sweet package even for PS2.

Sorry what ? Heh ! The game never looks good anyway, higher resolution and AA make it looks a little better. :lol

GTA is about playing than watching, it is not DOA games.

Sorry, I've played the first GTA3 on PC, and it wasn't much fun. Playing it on Xdude, and I'm having a blast. In the end, experience trumps fanboy reckoning.

I won't play SA until it comes out on Xdude.

i don't like the series, but i would be the same way. wait for the better version and in the meantime play the 100's of other awesome games and you won't even miss it

Everything in Vice City looks pretty good from a distance. Characters are crappy looking, but I like the cars and city.

"GTA on the Xbox doesn't have the capabilities for multiplayer, or modifications of any kind."

So you're saying that the minority of folks who actually use mods in GTA should get the PC version, and the vast majority that don't should go for the Xbox version. I agree totally.

If the PC version is 60 fps, I'd definitely prefer (and high-res AA) that over slightly more detailed models.

Jesus christ... what some people on this board make sound like vastly dissimilar games are actually very much the same. The PS2 version may suffer from a little draw in but it's the same fucking game. What's this about lock on in the Xbox version - have you ever pressed R1 on PS2? Unless I dreamt that. Unless you're a graphics whore or want to listen to your "tape" / harddrive-music there's not any difference in terms of gameplay.

Some days certain colleagues try to convince me that this forum is populated by idiots.

"No, no!", I say. "You've got it all wrong!"

Then I find threads like these.

Argh.
