I can't remember the name of this Movie/Cartoon/Song/etc.

2 songs, vague clues:

Something about writing a letter...sung by a black chick. I think one of the lyric lines is "I wrote a letter..."

A video with a train running down the tracks. Electronic music...maybe Crystal Method, not sure.

Vague enough?

I'm guessing it was shot for the show. You'll notice that nothing really happens in the clip. There is a woman in a truck full of water and a monster outside. Lots of shitty editing and AVID farts. Even Ghost Whisperer doesn't name the movie and adresses the character within the movie using only a cliche of cliche writing, "Turn on the lights, bimbo" etc. So probably fake.

You should check the closing credits, if you have not.

I'm looking for a movie. I watched it about 6 years ago (not in cinema, so its at least that old). The main character was some older married guy. His wife was cheating on him with some young firefighter (he might have been a firefighter too). He made contact with some guy through some IM to get them killed. When he got home and found both dead, he called the police, but they charged him for the murder. The money he paid him was found in the backyard, the weapon that killed them was his kitchen knife and the guys name was made up from the same letters as his name. I believe at the end he is siting in the prison and he sees that guy again.
I'm not 100% sure, but one of the last names might have been Water-something.

Ok, when I was younger my buddy had this anime-type movie we used to watch all the time. (I use the word anime loosely cause I have no idea what qualifies something as anime. This was animated, but it wasn't a cartoon. It was pretty violent.)

Anyway, all I remember is that it was about this guy who drove around in a car or dune buggy thing fighting all these creatures. It think it was set in an apocalypse scenario or something. I can't remember if the creatures were zombies, or robots, or just other people... but he would drive around fighting hordes of them. He had some kind of badass armor or exo suit or something. There were other survivors that he worked with... but they were cautios around him too cause he was kind of a dick. I remember it was the first violent anime type movie I had ever seen, and I thought it was so awesome. I can't remember how it ended. I watched this probably around the early 1990's but I dont know if it was new then or how old it could be.

I think at one point he takes somebody hostage and drives around with them crucified to the front of his dune buggy to scare the shit out of everyone.

What the hell movie was this??

you'll never find what I'm looking for.

It scarred me as a child.

It's this commercial (probably very likely Local) it had like a spanish guitar song instrumental going while it was about finding this man, he was wanted for murder/kidnapping. It always started with that damn song and went "Have you seen this man? Blah blah blah contact blah blah etc." The wanted poster it shown..the guy was a fucking nightmare. The drawing of him was like he had a face of a lion or something, he was hideously scary.

I have no reason to remember this other than to just get it out of my head. It wasn't like it was a favorite cartoon of mine but it's one that I try to remember when remeniscing about the old days and can never find it. It featured robots and food or something and during the intro there was one robot(?) that said "You are what you eat". I've searched retrojunk numerous times for something to stand out and nada. Anyone?

You're letting me down GAF. No ideas?

Volimar said:
Here's one. It's kind of vague, and I've asked about it on different forums for years with no one knowing what it is.

It's a series or movie. It had a BBC/PBS feel to it. It was about a person or persons that walked along this path of raised ridges about knee high. Think of it like a ridged potato chip with people walking along the indented part. There were other paths surrounding it making like a maze. I think it might have been inside a huge cavern. Anyway, the person(s) walked along the ridged path and it led them to a strange place or time where they'd have an adventure and then when they were finished they end up back in the cave on another path. I think they were trying to find their way home. Like I said it felt like a BBC show. Kind of Doctor Who-ish.

In one episode (if it was a series) there's a part where I think a tarantula climbed on the people and they accidentally took it on to the next place where it bit someone... It's all very hazy. It'd be from the 70's or 80's I'm pretty sure. I have weird memories of it from time to time and it's bugged the crap out of me not remembering the show. Please use your GAF powers and find it!

GAF, help me find out the name of this cartoon/anime.

It probably aired in the late 80's and it involved a team of 2 guys and a girl who each had a vehicle that could transform into a robot. One of the guys had a sport car, the other a tank and the girl had a helicopter I think.

The most distinctive thing that I remember about it is that the transformation sequence for their robots began by their seat going down a shaft inside the vehicle, which even for my very young self was already pretty stupid.

I'm glad Grandpa porked a Chinese Muslim
I just thought of an old book that I can't remember. I don't know if it was even a whole book or just part of a short story compilation. All I remember is that there is a trucker traveling cross-country. In his trailer he is unknowingly carrying a deadly biological or chemical weapon of some sort. In the middle of the story, he has an accident, and the weapon is exposed in the immediate area of the trailer, so he is exposed. He went off the road and is for some reason disabled enough that he can't leave the area, so he uses his CB to try and call for help, even as he can tell he's dying from something other than injuries incurred from the accident. I specifically remember that someone investigating the matter judges his calls to not be a hoax because as he dies while still on the CB, he is still transmitting as though his hand locked in a deathgrip on the button, rather than just immediately cutting out. I don't remember much else about the book after that, but I'm pretty sure it ended on a positive note.

I'm trying to remember this cartoon, and I think was also a children's book. It involved a kid who's grandpa was sleepwalking. I remember he sang one song that went "This house is going nuts!" or something like that. There was also something about him having a sweater that he ruined in the snow or something like that. I know I've posted here a billion times but yeah, trying to figure this out...

I'm thinking of a kids show on during the 90s, there was this creepy ass blue guy and a bunch of kids. That's really all I remember, but it was a mainstream show so I'm sure someone out there knows what I'm talking about.

I think I know what you're talking about, it sounds very familiar. Looking into it.

Actually, was it The Tick?

Street racing movie set in some desert. There's this one black car that is kicking everyone's ass. Turns out it has no driver, giant computer is racing it. A dead guy is haunting it or something. The movie was made in either the 80's or 90s. This sounds vague i know, but i distinctly remember this from my childhood. Please help?

The Big Hit.

There was a TV in the late '90s (during the heyday of Power Rangers) that featured young star pilots who (I think) get lost in space. With them is a little alien sidekick, and I'm pretty sure they flew X-Wing type fighters. Every week, they would go on an adventure on some exotic planet. One that I can remember was on a gas giant, where giant manta rays flew through the air and were being harmed by the locals. The protagonists of the show had to help out these atmospheric beasts.

For the life of me, I can't remember the name of this show. I'm pretty sure it was a Saturday morning show, and I think it was live-action. I was a huge space junkie when I was a kid, so I was immediately interested in the series. Heck, I don't even know if it lasted an entire season. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Space Cases?

I got one. It was a kid's movie, probably straight to video. I'd guess around '97/'98. The main character was a boy who was obsessed with these toys that this one company released, especially one that was like a multi-purpose camping tool. He ends up getting lost in the woods with a girl a couple years older than him. It turns out she's the daughter of the CEO of that toy company. She ends up showing him extra features on the camping tool.

That's all I remember. It's pretty unremarkable, but it suddenly sprang into my mind.

Even if that's not the show he's thinking about, he can't not accept your guess. Olmec rocks.

Totally missed that part.

Are there any other distinctive characteristics of this blue guy that you can recall?

I'm looking for the titles of two short stories. The first one is about a guy who is getting ready to meet his wife at a play for their anniversary when he heard he has the winning lottery ticket over the radio. The ticket somehow is blown out the window and when the man goes to retrieve the ticket the window closes shut behind him.

The second one is about a guy who is about to be hanged but he managed to escape into a nearby river
but it turns out it was all a hallucination due to the lack of oxygen from him being hanged

Looking for this movie or TV show where a guy had a pet carp that was flopping around on the floor and he was frantically trying to break into the house to put it back in its bowl.

What's that cartoon that was kids playing an MMO, they'd go inside the MMO and the one kid could change stuff in the game? It was on cartoon network, maybe adult swim, a few years back. I caught it once or twice and thought it might be interesting, but I kept missing it afterwards.

Edit - before someone says code lyoko, not that show.

Best guesses: Contents of the Dead Man's Pocket by Jack Finney and An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge by Ambrose Bierce.

Was it an anime? I'm not sure if .hack ever aired on CN.

There's an episode of American Dad which has a similar premise.

.hack sign was definitely on CN at one point, so it could be that.

Yeah I remember .hack being on in the days when they were airing Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece during prime time on Saturday nights.

If someone could figure this out, I'd be happy.

Really hard for me to remember, but it might have been claymation or puppets, but it was a supposed to be a children's show or something? I can't remember, this was probably around 1989 or 1990. However, I do remember one scene. There's some main character and then this creepy man. This creepy man then starts to juggle a wooden barrel with feet. At one point, he screws up and it lands on his hand. I think the whole show/movie took place on an island or some tropical place.

It's all I can really remember. I've tried to figure out what the hell this was, but I have failed over and over.
