I'm surprised that the terrorist doesn't know who he is, especially when he intercepted the phone call between Bauer and Andrew. Although he was suspicious of him from the way he was acting in the store...but still he should have been able to identify Jack
Yeah...I don't buy your explanation, AniHawk. It is likely that I remembered the phone call more than most since I watched 2-4 this afternoon, but I still think he would have at least recognized the voice, even vaguely.
I've been staying out of this thread as I've been waiting on Torrents, and watched 1 Sunday night, 2-4 today. As it stands, it's incredibly great television.
Jack
There is little to say about his little journey thus far. It took Jack only one hour to go from Suit to Kickassery this season, and it's paid off. The bank robbery I was admittedly not a huge fan of initially, but warmed up to by the end.
Don't get me wrong; it's really quite awesome to see unfold once it ended. I was a big fan of the Bug Spray moment. It raises the tension of Jack being stopped...and then Jack proceeds to shove his ass down. Great stuff. My initial fear, quelled somewhat by the end of the episode, was that it would turn into another Season 3 prison riot, where Jack does something totally sensational and should affect the environment around him greatly...and jack shit is heard of it again. Like, thosse jerks destroyed that prison, but not even a mention, not even a ramification once it got to the Salazar storyline.
I hope that, WHEN Jack gets out of this situation, it isn't ignored or blown off.
CTU
This is the best change of the show's history, and one that was entirely necessary.
There are times when it's great to have really good recurring characters on television shows. There are also times when it bogs down the show in pointless and purely perfunctory plot movements. The returns of Sherry and Nina have been great moments, but sitting around wondering how they'll make it back into the show is nothing but annoying. Of course, they both happen to (S3 Spoiler)
but by the same regard the history remains. Without any regurgitated villians to go to, there had to be a fresh start.
By the same token, the same old CTU people were essentially becoming another burden on the show's ability to simply portray a straight storyline. Now, at CTU, the storylines are building again. Driscoll has her scizophrenic daughter (I'd say she's 16 or over, considering that she seems to be old enough to converse, despite in sobs and crazy talk, in a manner such as "It makes me feel numb". Everyone like numb.), MaryAnn and Curtis obviously have some issues, (MaryAnn obviously is setting up to be nothing but another Sherry, willing to use others to succeed. I think that's what the writers WANT us to think), Sarah and Edgar are solid editions to the team, and I LOVE Chloe. I wouldn't have said it last season, but damnit she's entertaining. It's so interesting; once someone starts helping Jack instead of hindering him, I see them in an entirely new light. Now that we know she's on the right side, her personality is quite hysterical.
The Araz Family
Holy shit, these people scare me. Especially her. My god, she's scary. Like...get away, Shohreh! Back down!
Poor Behrooz. I feel bad for the kid. Debbie was hot, and he went and got her killed. And to think that he could have been able to simply dump her, wait for the day to end, then kill his parents, come to her house with a nice rose and a letter of apology (Signed in his mother's blood; chicks dig those kind of touches) and then whisked her away to Canada.
Really enjoying the season thus far, am anxious to see what exactly their end game is, and how the trial of Heller actually fits in with this. Obviously he isn't the main target...so why bother with a trial. It's like the trial is only a diversion...and why did they need the case for it? Man...this is utterly awesome and confusing. Well done, Joel Surnow and Company. Well done.
