I had to vent this... (PS5 Pre-Order cancelled)

So fuck it... yesterday night I got my pre-order cancelled. I am now back to the end of the queue.

Lucky me that I actually need the PS5 for XMas. But if I don't manage to land one by then I may just as well wait for June or something.

Edit: sorry, post above not clear: the shop where I paid the pre-order cancelled it. I just got a lousy email telling me they cancelled the order. Apologies for the bad wording. I am not fixing the above message because it could lead to confusion.

Well, if it makes you feel any better, I helped my brother get one from Amazon, I got one from Amazon, and then I also got another one from the Sony invite thing to give to my sister.

We'll be playing Demon's Souls on launch day. I'm not sure if any of that does make you feel any better, but I'm pretty fucking pumped and this has just become that kind of thread.

I think I can find a few presents here and there for my kids. But yeah, I wanted the smell of new white plastic intoxicating my living room :messenger_tongue:

(My plan was actually to "TEST" it while the kids were at school. You know, you can't give a broken toy to them, can you? :messenger_tears_of_joy: )

on second thought i might wait for the PS5 pro, maybe skip out on the first version. I do have the ps4 pro, so it's no rush really. also, my rtx 2070 pc gets me what I need for now.

Actually I don't like most of Bethesda games. I know, you'll kill me for this, but I actually hate Fallout and ES (I own them, but just don't enjoy playing them).

One reply for both of you. I am a Sony phony, so I won't get the XBox anyhow. Actually I do quite like Sony's exclusives as a whole, so for me it makes sense to remain on the Sony platform, and I have a PC where I play multiplats. In the end it's more about "being among the firsts" than a real need. No real loss.

People are buying these at launch? Considering the failure of the last one I’m fine waiting.

I doubt I will get an Xbox as I have a pc and can just play anything on that.

I mean is there some killer exclusive coming out on the PS5 at launch? What’s the point?

My fat PS3 60gb is still working. My launch PS4 worked fine 'till I traded it for a PS4 Pro, which is still working fine. So what's the point, you ask? I shall quote myself: it's more about "being among the firsts" than a real need.

That's it, really.

My ps3 is broken, no idea how. PS4 first wave controllers both were shit and fell apart. Not trying to be smart but does PS5 have a killer exclusive coming at launch? Like aside from having it to have it, is there a reason to get one right away?

I get you, I had the original PS4 controller fixed under warranty. Still, you ask about killer exclusives at launch, and I agree with you: this time around there are none: if you want to you can play the same games on PS4. Actually pretty much everything coming out now can be played on PS4 and PS5. Only Ratchet and Clank is a killer app, at this point, but objectively there isn't much else at launch.

Ok, this seems like a problem to me. In the past I would rush out to buy a console due to some sweet exclusive game. With everything being cross platform and BC I just don’t see the point.

Don’t get me wrong I will get a PS5, I’m just shocked at the launch of these consoles.
Shit, imagine if Sony got a deal with CDPR and released Cyberpunk like a month early as an exclusive to the system. Even if only a month O would be running out to buy a PS5.

Im dumbfounded at the lack of exclusives on day one.
