I Hate Casino in Games

You know, the ones that have nice prizes attached to it. I just can't move on unless I get all those prizes!

I'm currently playing Pokemon Fire Red (Lttp my first Pokemon ever) and I finally arrived at the casino town (forgot the name). Look at all those exclusive Pokemons and TMs. How can I pass on that! So I've been spinning the slot machine till my eyes bleed just to get enough coins to buy all of them. I'm so f** sick of this but I can't move on!

I remembered this happened to me in so many other game. My early addiction was in the original DQVIII on PS2 and a decade later I'm still doing this shit. Why do games need Casino or tie exclusive items to it? It's so boring and tedious. I would rather running around the game world to unlock the secret or playing the goddamn Blitzball for eternity to win the prize!

Anyone share the same opinion?

You'd hate the copious minigames in the Yakuza/Ryū ga Gotoku series.

My favourite casino stage will always be Sonic Adventure.

SEGA sure know how to do minigames right.

I like the asthetic and music attached to casino levels/areas, but yeah I agree that locking cool stuff away like that isn't fun.

I agree with this statement. The RNG factor of a lot of casino minigames is what I hate the most. But I guess that is what all casino's are like anyways.

I am always bankrupt in Forza Horizon 3 because I can't help myself but spin that slotmachine until all my money is gone.

Thank god I never got in contact with that shit in real life.

Sonic handles my blue balls
I love them and any mini games that net you in-game currency. Fable, Sonic Adventure, etc.

Not a fan though of when it's only pure luck (i.e. Pokemon slot machines).

I like casino in games, always spend lots of times playing with that stuff.

On a slightly related note me and an associate like to bet gold on the snail race circuit in WoW whenever we pass, so I guess I even make my own gambling when its not available heheh.

I play the Yukon Trail just so I can get revenge on One-Eyed Jack

Whoa whoa whoa. Let's not go totally overboard. I know what you mean though. I love Dragon Quest, but I lament its fascination with casinos. All they do is hinder the game's balancing.

It depends for me. If the minigames are good, then the casino is good. A good example of this would be the FFXIII-2 DLC game Chronobind. That mini-game was better than the entire FFXIII trilogy. A bad example would be Pokemon, where no skill is involved and you're pressing A on the slot machines for 20 hours until you can buy that goddamn Dratini.

To be fair, it isn't pure luck though. I can actually see the "7" if I stare at it long enough and once I get the rhythm of the rotation I can accurately hit the 777, which makes everything really suck because I know I can do it without purely relying on luck but sometime I'm just too tired from staring at the damn thing and my rhythm is off so I keep missing.

I remember as a kid playing the hell out of the casino games in James Bond 007 on the Gameboy. i think i learned the value of losing in casinos early because of that game because i rarely gamble these days.

Thank you James bond

I generally avoid Videogame casinos (just like real Casinos). Slots are especially annoying to me as I feel I have almost no control. At least Poker or Blackjack games I can choose when to keep going vs. be conservative.

A lot of people hated replacing the casino with Voltorb Flip in Pokemon HGSS, but the logic puzzle with a bit of a luck element was WAY more fun than the Casinos ever were. I happily grinded my way to a Dratini in Goldenrod City when I did a Nuzlocke.

The Tales of games often have a casino with a poker game. It's usually the best part of the game. I've spent hours and hours playing it.

Isn't this the exact reason we don't have casinos in the newer pokemon games?

I think that's because the European rating system will rate the games a 12 rather than a 3.
